Turret roller bearings

I never mentioned this in the Cromwell thread, and this mod isn't tank specific.

I used 6mm airsoft pellets for roller bearings on the Cromwell turret. Those that have the HL Leo might appreciate this mod.

Another winner Dan.

We only have biodegradeable here (although they really don't seem to breakdown), but stainless BBs should work as well.

IF I had stainless steels ones that is what I would have used.

That's a great idea! I'll have to give it a try on my HL Leo as you suggest.

That's a great idea. How did you secure them but still leave enough slack for them to spin? Looks like they're installed into the upper hull.

You need some really good high polished ones. Walmart crossmans are not.

I drilled through the hull. I then glued a backing behind the holes, and the drilled a smaller diameter than the 6mm pellets through that. The ball just sits in place.

After this picture was taken I end up doing the same thing on the topside, so when you turn it over they don't fall out.

Sounds simple but effective. Cool!
