Very nice! You going to add a ton of mud on it like the movie too?

fynsdad 12-09-2014 06:35 AM

I did think about caking it in mud, but she's also a battler so I don't want to interfere too much with the suspension for reliability...

ausf 12-09-2014 07:06 AM

Sweeeeeet!

Yea they sure caked it on in the movie. At some points I could barely see the bogies!

That looks absolutely awesome! I started my Ez8 years ago and am still figuring out how I want to do it, mainly because I had an older non option DMD. Now I think I know how to do it after just buying a built Tamiya. I know what parts I need just to build the upper half as far as option parts go and lots of ETO metal details on a new upper hull and all the rotation elevation parts after market from AAF.
While watching the movie I thought of detailing mine out and painting it Fury, but I figured a lot of other people will do that. So maybe I will do it as one of the other Ez8s that got popped in that last Tiger battle Besides, I cant compete with your model.

I thought the same, but then thought "what the hell, she's too good looking not to do one.."
I went the Budget route, HL hull, Mato turret and tamiya bogies. She's also fitted with a DBC so she's fully IR battle ready....

That is really coming together nicely. I am going to do one of these next.

Furfy - the movie

Amazon now has a release date of January 27 for the DVD and they are taking pre-orders. Just in case anyone is interested. jot

fynsdad 12-15-2014 10:56 AM

...about done....
Decided against putting "mud" on as she's going to be predominantly a battler so reliability is more important than looks....

She's a beauty!

RichJohnson 12-15-2014 12:56 PM

Damn that looks good!
where did you find that .30? Ive been looking for a few. Also crew memebers. I believe 120mm figures are close, but hard to find.

fynsdad 12-15-2014 01:00 PM

I got the .30 from welsh Dragon Models (I think) a few years ago, it's been kicking around my spares box till now. The figures scratchbuilt...

strippersteel 12-15-2014 01:23 PM

Beautifully done! Love it!

She's a bit of a mongrel, HL upper/lower chassis, Tamiya HVSS bogies/track and a modified Mato turret with scratchbuilt barrel...here she is before paint....

...putting the finishing touches on "Fury"...she's now got a flashing LED installed in the co-ax, although toying with changing to a green bulb....(if you've seen the film you'll know why..... ;) )

Very Very nice.........Don't think I'll be getting quite as involved with my tanks tho. Too many other hobbies too. Thanks, Rob

RichJohnson 01-23-2015 12:32 PM

I bought a second machine gun parts bag from aaf for the Sherman to go in my ez8 mantle.

don't use green ;-)
