A few simple tricks (A Squad Video)

Just a few tips I've been meaning to work into the Squad Videos and keep forgetting. :)

The more experienced guys probably know most of this, but guys at my skill level might find them useful. I'd really like to see you guys post stuff like this. I'm always trying to learn new stuff, too. :)

I always wondered how to remove pinion from the motor. Thanks for the tips. I have a couple 480 motors I want to test.

Ya, I am very interested to see a review of the 'hobby grade' controller in the airsoft Tiger I. It is quite the price job to go from Taigen electronics to Hobby grade and I have not been willing to pay. If possible a side by side video would be informative.

Hey Greg,

I'll try and get a video this coming weekend. It's really not that expensive. With all the extras like the smartie board I'd say I still have just a little over $150 in the swap, and I don't think that's too bad. $85 for the radio, $45 for the RC2TG and about $35 for the smartie board and backlight kit, but those aren't truly necessary. You can put in a USB port for just about $5.

Great idea's Gary. Here's a common pinion puller I've used for years and not very expensive, though excuses to have some torch play is always fun!!

That looks like a very useful tool. I think it's much better than my method, and I do believe I might have to buy one of those. :)

Hi maxu52:

Love the Squad Videos. Always informative.

Harbor freight is a great place for inexpensive tools. Sometimes the quality isn't the greatest but for the hobbyist they usually do fine. I get the 20% and occasionally 25% off coupons in the mail. If you subscribe online you get the printable coupons. I also love the "free with purchase" coupons. The wife loves the little led flashlights so much I can hardly get anything else. We must have half a dozen or so around the house.

Thanks again for the gearboxes. I'll be tearing into my Sherman as soon as I get the chance and will let you know how it goes.

Cheers,
Old Fatman
