Tiki Tiger

Does anyone know the exact color of the greenish camo on the TIKI Tiger1?Thanks guys

Strathcona 03-15-2015 06:55 PM

I have seen pictures of this popular Tiger, and I would say it is overall Panzer Grey, with sand colored stripes sprayed on. Maybe some other Tankers will have more accurate information.

Looking for the camo color on this one Strathcona. The greenish/yellowish color.

Believe it was just dunkelgelb. Not 100% though, never really got into researching Tiki. It can take on different looks depending on base coat and neighboring colors like any other shade of paint.

It very well may be dunkelgelb, but it has been modulated some. At least on the tank in the photo.

Firstly chaps there is no such colour as Panzer Grey, Tkik the same as other Tigers from this period was painted in a base coat of Dunkelgrau with Dunkelgelb camouflage.

Yeah it was Panzer Grau and dunklegelb. Dark Grey and yellow for me and you. no green on Tiki.

Rivet may be and probably is correct about the grey but that is what i had seen it called. It was a very dark grey.

I used Tamiya paints. Their name for the color I used was German Grey.

RAL7021 dunkelgrau or translated into English dark grey this was used by the Germans to paint everything from the 1930-s to 1943 when the base colour was changed to RAL7028, it’s people in the West especially modellers who insist on it being called Panzer grey, this then doesn’t make the term Panzer grey correct.
The same goes for the recent name for Wittmann AKA the Black Night this is a name invented in the last 10 years though there are many who insist that it was used in WWII which indeed it was not.

Thanks for the information rivetcounter, you seem to know your German paint colors.
