Help with Taigen wiring problem

Hi
i had a problem with my new Taigen Sherman and a couple of the wires got caught in the turret rotation motor and where yanked out. They come from the 3 wire plugin on the main board,at the top beside the other 5 wire plug. This is the ir version. If someone could take a picture of the main board with the plug in and wires attached that would be great. The red wire stayed in but the green and yellow were pulled out. Of course I then took pins out to retire and promptly forgot which socket they fit into.
thanks in advance for help
dave

These are the connections for the IR version of the tanks. Would you mind taking me a close up pic of the wire torn in question please? It should be much easier to help that way. These pictures probably wont help for what you need.

Hi Erik
I will take picture when I am home from work tonight. From the picture I know it is plug E and I will check but it only had red, green and yellow wires not the five wires I see in second picture that go to that plug. Maybe it pulled out more wires then I thought, but it looked like two out of three

NP, I'll be watching :) Send me an email with them too just in case ok?

That tank doesn't have a trigger switch? Does that mean it doesn't have barrel recoil?

regsbyg 03-23-2015 04:19 PM

It has barrel recoil. Trigger switch??

Max-U52 03-23-2015 04:29 PM

Look at the photo Erik posted. See the little two pin plug coming out of the five pin plug that your wires pulled out of? That's the trigger switch. Pretty sure it triggers barrel recoil and cannon sound, and track recoil. I know for sure on an airsoft tank it triggers track recoil and cannon sound.

They must be wiring the Sherman differently. If you look at my picture you will see a small silver plug on top of smoke tubing. This connects to a wire coming out of the turret. This wire goes into main board and does not appear on Erik's picture

Thanks Shorty that is it I think.

Yes it is, it might be Red not Orange on yours. I have the exact same tank mine is Orange. Mine have
pulled out several times. I would like to get some new connectors and plug in so I can just redo it.

I believe that is a ground wire for your Asiatam recoil unit switch. It is Red and comes out of the RX and then a small bullet connector connects it to the small switch on the recoil unit.

Problem solved I think

Hooked it up as Shorty described and all appears to work. Does IR emitter come from gunners side or machine gun side beside main gun

Im not sure what you are asking? My IR emitter (LED) is installed on the right side of the Main Gun if you are standing behind the tank looking forward. The wiring for the IR travels from the left side under the Recoil Unit to the right side. I dont think it matters as long as its secure and doesnt interfere with any moving parts.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know

Imex-Erik 03-24-2015 05:14 AM

I'm glad you got it working! I got beat to the punch :)
