Jealous of all your tanks and your town! You've got some cool pieces there!

Nice setup. I know how much work it is to set up all that stuff for pictures, thanks for sharing them. It has been a while, but I like to set up "convoy" pictures with my stuff too.

This way you get zoom, but it seems like it takes forever for each photo to display when you click through them the first time. On my computer at work that takes forever but it is a bit quicker here at home. I wonder if it has to do with internet speed? I have pretty slow internet because it knocked 40 bucks a month off the bill. For that much I'll live with a little less speed. :) |

I have some videos I'll post later. |
Nice Gary. I like your guns too. Photo 21 is my favorite, the Jagdpanther looks great with the rays of the sun shinning on it.
|
Yeah, Joe, the sunlight does make a big difference, and I was fortunate that during the day I got both sun and cloud for different shots. I can't tell you how much fun I had yesterday. :) Days you can just devote totally to the hobby are rare so I really enjoy them when I get the chance. I'm really hoping to get at least two more days like yesterday before the season ends and the cold drives this hippie inside where it's warm.

Very nice set up you have there. I was going to comment on it during the mobias video. Nice lanes. It would be interesting to set up an attack on the checkpoint with the goal to be in possession of the check point by battles end. Attacking and defending these access points would be.a great battle.

I've thought about something like that, assigning certain objectives as a battle scenario, but I'm told my battlefield isn't any good for IR battles because you can't stand at the edge and see the whole field. I could probably achieve that, but I'd have to remove a lot of undergrowth and obviously that huge brush pile and that would be quite a job. To me the undergrowth is an advantage, and I know a battle on this field would take quite some time because there are lots of good places to hide and you'll have to be a heck of a tanker to achieve nine hits on your opponent in this environment. I'm perfectly OK with tankers being out on the field itself during a battle, but I'm told it just isn't done that way. Sooo, I'll just keep it the way it is and use it as I have been, as a very cool place to drive my tanks and take photos & videos. Everyone has different expectations from the hobby and for me it's more important to be able to get good photos and videos than it is to have IR fights with other tanks. But I'm having loads of fun and I guess at the end of the day that's what's important, right?

Hey Gary, I like the battlefield, I have lots of accessories to start building my own sometime soon I hope. I have been looking at a lot of what people have been doing and it seems to me that the ones that seem to have a little something more going for them all have varying terrain, hills, valleys, rivers etc. You have a good amount of space to include them all. A wheel barrel full of soil here and there to break up the line of sight would go a long way I think. Thanks for showing us what you have going on , always enjoy your videos.

Lol...nice video and no offence taken from ya at all man! Love that it has inspired ya, to me thats the whole point!
|
I'm really glad you feel that way, Ryan. I think a little friendly back and forth can only make both our projects better. You've already done some great stuff and whenever I see your photos it makes me want to make my efforts better. That's what it's all about, right? Comparing notes to make both our collections better? That's why I really hope you'll be able to join the figure build. And Missouri ain't that far from Detroit so who knows, maybe we can visit each other's villages one day.

I like you videos, and the battlefield. Just as soon as it cools off enough around here, I'm going to start on mine. It will be small, probably 12X14.

Love the tanks and battlefield. Thanks for sharing!

I picked up a ladder for the tower! Finally! :)

Looks great man! You know for the whole not being able to see the track thing you could just build a platform to sit/stand on and be good there :)

Gary, if I lived closer, I'd help you build a platform for tankers to stand and fire away.
