ETO Transmission

It has come to my attention that someone has been stating that he is the exclusive dealer for ETO transmissions in USA and that he has some for sale for far more than the ETO price. This source is in USA.

Let me state very clearly that the only source for ETO transmissions is etoarmour, available here:

http://www.etoarmour.com/products.php?ViewCategory=47

No one else in the world has ETO transmissions at this time. Within 10 days or so there will be a source in EU who will have some and when the parcels arrive to that source I will announce on this forum.

I state again, NO ONE has ETO transmissions except ETO at this time.

I would have hoped resellers/scalpers would not reach even a hobby such as this, but I guess not. Shame. :(

I agree, but I doubt it is a reseller, no one has three of my transmissions except one tanker in Byelorus and he ain't selling. I think it's a scam. If I find out more I will post the info.

Just to put in a plug for Bob, ETO, and his excellent gearboxes...

I modified a Torro KV2 to take the ETO transmission and couldn't be happier. The control is exponentially better than you could expect w/a standard style gearbox. Tons of power and torque at any speed.

The shipping was much faster than expected, and everything arrived in perfect condition. Additionally Bob was super helpful in my conversion, and even threw in a handful of small standoff parts for free.

Highly recommended. Happy to share details if anyone else is looking to do a Torro/Taigen conversion.

Any news on the release of transmissions for Tammy Panther or PIV?

Martellus 11-05-2015 06:33 AM

I've had them in a King Tiger last winter and just installed them into a customers M4. They are very robust and easy to install.

I'll bet the ETO gearboxes are probably the last set of TU's you will even need to buy for your tank.

Panther G 11-05-2015 03:06 PM

Are there any pictures currently of the new TU's ? i do not believe i have ever seen any.

tankme 11-05-2015 04:49 PM

Any plans for making them for the M1 or Chally?

Gentlemen, now that I have returned home from US I will get to work on more installations for the transmissions. First will be T55, second will be P4.

Yes, now those are transmissions. This is what we should have been using from day one. I really like the boxes with the 540's. Man i would love to score a set of those for an Abrams or Leo. Even a Challenger. We could really weigh them down then and still get plenty of speed and grunt.

Within days 540's will be included in the systems and offered on the ETO sight.

Martellus 11-25-2015 04:01 PM

Do you think the T55 boxes will be available by christmas? Just wishful thinking?

Panther G 11-28-2015 06:59 AM

You know, I almost forgot I have a T-55. i never fully completed it because of the TU' problems with them. maybe sometime in the future I can actually finish the build of this tank before i forget I have it again. LOL.

MAUS45 11-29-2015 05:45 PM

Or you could sell it?

LukeZ 12-08-2015 12:49 PM

Two quick questions, and my apologies if this was answered elsewhere:

1) Is a gearbox for the Tamiya JS-2 still forthcoming?

2) Anyone installed one of these in the Torro Jagdtiger, and if so, any issues?

sevoblast 12-09-2015 09:13 AM

Gentlemen, it's been a difficult couple weeks with the electric gone and of course with electric gone so was the internet most of the time. Things are improving daily and at this time the net is up more than down but still difficult and very slow. We do have a generator and that has kept the household running during the crisis but apparently neither net provider we have to the digs has one. Go figure.

I will try to find time to work on a T55 system this week. I am feeling better now since my little bout with an old injury so time to get back to work.

JS2 is going to take some work but I'll figure a way. Problem is the transmissions are on an angle with the nose down.

I guess that may be why I haven't heard anything about trying to order a Henntec HT056 for my Abrams and a Schumo Pershing PH0013 Handle set? Glad to hear it's getting better...

That could well be. Try it again, if you don't get a reaction within 24 hours email me using the email on the web sight, or better yet, just use the email on the sight, email with what you want, your name and addy and I'll process it manually.

Cruiser133 12-09-2015 09:21 PM

I would be interested in a T-55 application as well....

LukeZ 12-09-2015 10:00 PM

Thanks for the response. I'll keep my eyes open for a future JS-2.

Any comment on the Jagdtiger? If no one's done it before I don't mind giving it a try, but if someone already knows it won't be compatible I won't bother.

King Tiger S01 unit also fits in Jagdtiger, Tamiya that is.

Believe you'll have to do some drilling to get the gearboxes to fit. Mounting holes for tamiya gearboxes are different than torro/taigen. You'll have to adjust gearbox height as well I'd think. Tamiya gearboxes are usually off the bottom of the hull with bosses or a brace. Not sure if the torro/taigen JT gearboxes are flush on the hull or raised.

LukeZ 12-11-2015 09:16 AM

Thanks Benny. The Torro does have a plate elevated above the floor of the hull to clear the suspension. It sounds like no one has tried this yet, but that it should probably be possible. Drilling and spacing shouldn't be hard.
