Tamiya JS-2 recoil unit failure
I've had a failure of the recoil unit in my JS-2. It never has worked consistently. So does anyone know where I can purchase one. AAF doesn't list them and Artistic is gone.

Tamiya parts are supposed to be lifetime warranty. I think you can contact tamiya usa about a replacement. |
Check your manual but I believe its the same as the Pershing.

JS-2 uses the same one as the King Tiger. Jason Reid sells them from his website here.

Just so everyone will know what the problem is, the large brass nut appeared to have started to work itself out. In turn, every time the carriage recoiled it was dragging on that brass nut. It finally got to the point that the carriage would not return to battery and just made a grinding noise unless I cut power to the tank. The nut is ruined so there is no saving it. Next time I will locktite that nut, which I think is actually the head of a brass screw if I remember correctly.

That nut should always be loc- tited in place. They always come loose on Tamiya tanks.
