I have no idea what that is from Jerry but I like it. Ii have several data plates around here. But this sherman one is special. I got it from a guy that claimed he had previously owned 3 m4a2 hvss 76mm shermans. Mostly taken apart but all the parts were there. He never did anything but sell them to collectors in the 80s.

Is this what they both look like?

Since my data plate says " M4A3 76W". I assume it is not an hvss model because it would say E8 if it were a Chrystler or just HVSS if it were a fisher.
though I am just speculating. Not sure if the Ordanance dept would make a new plate for the suspesnsion change. I would think they would and it would be US army offical " M4A3 76W HVSS". As the E8 was technically only a Chrystler designation though we have come to use it to refer to any hvss equipped sherman. |
Ja, the data plate I have is from a Gotha Go 242 -B3 combat Glider
