Early exhausts for Panther G

Does anyone know if there are exhaust stacks to turn Tamiya Panther into early G?
thanks
Dave

Stripping them off a HL Pantiger is a good start - but you must decide between fabricated armoured exhaust covers, and cast examples.

Are the exhausts the type with 3 exhaust tubes on the left side and one on the right? If that's the case, you can get them from the Tamiya Jagdpanther "M" sprue. http://www.ebay.com/itm/9115200-Tami...p2047675.l2557

Those two outer pipes weren't really exhaust pipes but rather for air to circulate i an attempt to reduce exhaust pipe backfires. That said I use them as exhausts in my glow powered models as every bit helps....

Those engine exhaust manifold cooling pipes were used primarily on Ausf.A Panthers... that and early/mid Jagdpanthers.

I would bend some brass tubing and sand down the armored guards that come with the Tamiya Panther, then add some Mr. Surfacer for that cast look.

Rather than canibalize, you could always use local the lowes metal sheets they sell. I saw some pretty easily bendable material when i was scouting for metal for my own scratch built tank. You could fashion some exausts from that. Sorry if this is a bad idea. You could get some cipper piping possibly and use different diameters to form an exhaust.

Thank you,I guess I'll bite the bullet on the exhaust like everything else and order the expensively correct ones

You could also get a set from the Taigen/HL Pantiger (Panther A).

Or, order direct from China...

Very nice find...wonder if he can make the rounded, cast version, too...

He also has a lot of other good detail parts for the Panther G, including the rounded, chinless mantlet. :D

Thanks pilliphat,I'm going the cheap route with a 90% accurate tank ,I wonder if they are hollow so I can use a smoker?oh well any way the budget for the panther 2 has been severely cut,I'm gearing up to order a Lowe from Ludwig ,in any case I really enjoyed construction of a project from the ground up,I considered building the tamiya jagdpanther, but anyone can bolt one of those together,I feel my skill set must really grow with each challenge I face in scratch building details, this will net a lot of growth once completed.

Airbrushler 07-31-2016 06:09 PM

this is why i make my own mine are bent brass tubing with a HL smoker for now

all good...if you want the HL parts, they are piped for the smoker.

Darkearth74 08-01-2016 06:08 PM

Yes I ordered those ,and considering I have a new infatuation with "paper tanks" I feel a mix of of small detail parts are acceptable, for me in any case I may end this project with a rolling chassis that I can return to later for completion, thank you for the link.
