Are the gearboxes middle/low configuration? 48 or 58mm axles?

Man, really want to see a vid of this sucker hauling tail cross country like the real deal. Wondering how the running gear will hold up. Guessing some metal arms, sprocket, idler and gearbox braces will be a must. This is first modern tank I'm kinda excited about other than the tammy 2a6 years back. Already got a gyro lined up for gun stabilization.

I have got a better GBS for ya ;) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2188807 as you can see from the inputs it just needs servo outputs and voltage to do all the magic, and i hear theyre very good. i put a fair bit of time getting it translated, i have yet to order one but they are good on a 3s setup as well. http://www.offerany.com/p-524119292554.html http://www.29bc.com/plus/youku/?id=XMTM3NDgxMTE1Ng==

Looks like alot more of a wiring mess with that one. Plus you need a bigger footprint for both modules? The engel pitch control is plug and play inline between the servo and RX, no added wires or components as well as a small footprint.

Thanks alot for the fast reply!
Indeed, it is quite the expensive HL and I will wait to get more familiar with the RC universe.

I think my choice for my first RC tank will be a ztz-99 or the leo 2a6. This way if I screw things up it will be less painfull on the wallet.
Unless someone has another suggestion (brandwise) Heng Long looks like the best starting point in the hobby. Am I right?

The Abrams is also a very good choice for a new HL as well as the challenger for modern armor.

Has there been any update on the availability of these? The seller I had last contacted had told me early November and I haven't heard anything since. There is a UK based vendor on "the bay" selling them here but I'm not paying $72 for shipping!

California seller said late Dec, but more likely some time in January. Save that Christmas money!

A lot more detail than I thought!

I've just received my M1A2 with metal gear box and should receive metal road wheels and sprockets (both with bearings) in a week or two. The tank itself is somewhat detailed and with 50 hrs or so of work it will look very good ;) The details sprues are very poor or just wrong. Like the commander with what looks like WW2ish gear! I am currently rebuilding the M2 .50 cal (I have to start somewhere) and will be moving down the whole tank updetailing every piece that needs it. That said I am not a very psychorigid rivet counter but I like to see some rivets in the right area ;) The Abrams is quite impressive I must say. I do love it already.

I think the Leopard 2 and the T90 are the best detailed tanks HL has produced, but that's just me. I can't wait to get a T90 and a Chally 2. Probably next year, right now I've got 4 tanks that need Clark boards.
