Experimenting with Blue tooth
I have been dabbling with Digital slot cars lately and am using the Benedini TBS as a Trackside sound generator, Recently got the the sound of a Porsche 917 built, that is synched up to the TBS to provide proper racing sounds to the car.
I have a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver on on the way to attempt on board sound using Bluetooth technology. Even the least powerful Blue Tooth transmitter has a range of 10 meters which is more then adequate to cover a home slot car track.
However, I still have not forgot about tanks so whatever i learn here can be applied to tanks as well. I am thinking of a Benedini TBS and Bluetooth transmitter mounted inside a radio. All you need to do is add a Bluetooth speaker in the tank, and the sounds will be Broadcast to the tank. For guys that have no interest in IR and only want to improve the way their tanks sounds this would be a very economical solution for multiple tanks. You would only need to buy one TBS and a Bluetooth transmitter to mount in your radio.. On board the tank you would have Bluetooth speaker. SO this would mean TBS quality sounds in each tank for about $30, not counting the original TBS and Bluetooh transmitter in the Radio
So I will keep you posted on my progress with this in my slot cars, and if I get the Bluetooth working , I will post the results and how to do it here as well
Cheers
Dan
