Interesting concept.

you going to build it

Not me, way beyond my skill level. Think of just the drive units, let alone the suspension systems, and the complicated hull and turret shapes.

Hey guys! We had a fantastic meet and 279 was with us running. Photos are coming and movie as well...
If you go to instagram - there is short video - https://www.instagram.com/halhusker/

CRAZY work. :o

What you are seeing is the tip of the iceberg. Look at Hal's link for more pics of their work.

Seems like 3D printing is popping up more and more. I see a lot of printed parts here. In the next 10 years I predict it will be hard to find a modeler and hobbyist without one.

Panther F 04-17-2017 09:46 AM

You can't imagine the things in 1/16 scale on Shapeways. I picked up a printed bicycle and a couple of umbrellas for my G1 Jagdpanther build.

17 years ago to have an RC tank you had to scratch build it or buy a kit because 'RTR' meant only some cheap toy you picked up from Toys 'R Us that was in a box.

Whew! I recognize a lot of the work in there and know who the builders are, but that Object 279 is more of what I was referring to... just absolutely crazy beautiful.

The beauty of Kubinka Musem, Snigiri and many others is all you have to do is ask for permission and they will let you past the ropes. You can measure and photo until your heart's content, not a problem. At least here history is respected, to a point. Many of the units in Kubinka are runners. Snigiri, exactly the opposite. What they have is in the weather and slowly moldering away.

Bob, thanks for the pics and comments. Movies are on its way to be developed. To slow. But at the end of the week we'll upload them all.
