check out the link at the at the top post Thanks All Joe Check every week on eBay, I'm sure one will pop up on there for you. Good luck hunting! |
all is good my friend... its looking like its a choice between the Xion $99.oo kit and the Battleground Toys kit for $137.oo (thank you TheBennyB).. the Xion kit is the lesser of the two in detail and price.. and I am not sure yet if its even available (the site says its not) tomorrow I am expecting to hear the veredict on that one...
the Battle-grounf kit is really nice, but expensive... and I really wonder how committed I am to this build... we will see shortly... Thanks again, Joe |
Hey Joe... you mentioned detail (or lack there of) so what will be done with the gun? Just a driver, a static model or is it going to be subjected to the riggers of battling?
I guess my choice between the two is what material they are made of and do I need to upgrade it with a brass or metal barrel. Can it support a recoil mechanism? These would help me make my decision. |

Wow.. I have so many to build that I am simply setting them up for later decisions... I'm of the school of.. "get em while you can" I can never seem to find things once I've passed on the for what ever reason. So if I see something in 1/16 scale and it is WWII era or even Veitnam in some cases I get it and try to get all the extra parts needed
to do the intended mod. In this case it started with the 1940 Ford Stake Truck... I looked at the Asiatam Opel Blitz...a but too expensive for what I was thinking of... I ended up getting the Ford after seeing a German War time photo with the same truck with an AA gut on back bed. So then I'm off looking for a Flak 38 as I already have the Verlinden Flak 43 and the Hungarian 3.7 CM Flak kit.. both of which are slotted for a Bergpanther D with Flak 37 and Mobelwagen 3.7 cm Flak (Late) ...I also have the Juckenburg Whirbelwind... I plan on mounting the Flak 38 onto the back bed of the Ford... it is a static kit, but well detailed and basically its a battlefield prop... they all can't run, jump, and shoot. All the others pretty much will do that if I ever get around to it before the MS makes it no longer possible. I've attached a few pix.. the Black Ford is the truck I purchased.. the Flak is the Battle ground kit,, the rest are reference images I like and probably the direction It will end up going... I have a set of Xion figures that will fit... but that is the last thing I think about.. and I always mod the figures to my tastes anyway.. I hope this sort of explains my thinking Thanks again.. Joe |
BTW.. thank for the instructions on uploading it worked perfectly... Joe : )
