Painting figures- resources?

Is there any resource out there that shows US Soldiers in WWII in color? (Ive tried to pick it up from movies like fury and private ryan....)
Specifically im trying to paint my tank figures and just going by the box from SOL. It appears the tankers often wore a leather jacket that was a bright brown or a light brown, but not the dark brown of the aircrews bomber jacket.
Also, they might wear a kaki color coat maybe, with a OD shirt.
Also, trying to get color photos of the taker helmet etc.
hard to paint realistic figures if you dont know the colors.
The taigen marketed waltersons figures all seem to wear maybe the kaki color coat, though even their colors on the figures vary a bit.

ausf, what did you sculpt your US TC wearing, the leather jacket or the kaki coat?

I went with the US tanker jacket, a zip up Ike design of a canvas type material that was usually worn over tanker overalls. I believe the color is called US brown, it's not OD and certainly not khaki, more of a tan. Keep in mind uniforms came from quite a few factories and dye lots swung wildly, so you can't be far off no matter what you do.

Visit the figure forums like planet figure or armor like armorama or missing lynx, plenty of refs.

Did you try google searching WWII color photos, etc. ?

Here is what painted. I used the brown that Sol showed on their box of figures of the guy wearing a leather jacket.
so for the canvas jacket it would be more like the taigen figures then with the geyish tan jacket.

Vallejo has an entire color line called Panzer Aces that includes the base color, highlights and shadows for each and every possible WWII uniform. Including US tanker, USMC tanker, etc. They have the three Oak leave camo colors, splinter camo, SS black. It really is a great line, all the Allies and Axis covered for the 1/35 guys.

The Osprey books are cheap and will give you a good reference on just about anything in individual volumes.

I attached a couple of photos, one of a jacket, but two of a Sherman for you guys who don't think weathering is warranted.
