1/25 RC Centurion
 

Found this link, if Tamiya can do this in 1/25, why can't a 1/16 scale kit come out? What's your thoughts?

I agree completely but we as modelers don't understand the business side of the issue.

Not only the 1/25th Centurion but their Chieftain, both the SU-100 and T34 too in the same scale. They had an Ausf A. Panther & a Jagdpanther for years too and why didn't they offer their 1/35th Leopard 1 instead of that A4? Why not continue that and the Gepard in Full Function?

They also had a 1/21 series armor kits too including the M40 Big Shot. :(

I would have been happy if Tamiya had continued and expanded their 1/25 scale line, especially the RC versions. Their 'motorized' 1/25 is really how I began in this hobby but
it was limited with the gearboxes and RC equipment available then( not to mention my very limited skill set at the time). If one has limited space 1/25 is great.
Large enough for functional chassis, link track( not 'rubber band' tracks) and is probably the closest to G gauge railway items. Would be nice if zinc alloy tracks and
sprockets were commonly available for them. Bandai's 1/24 scale ( c'mon guys!) Panther even sported real rubber tires.

Coming up with all that goes into making a larger version of the Centurion would represent quite a capital expense. Almost certain someone has already run the numbers.
If it was worth it you'd might already be deciding how you want to paint it.

Who know´s what happens in their brains ;) I´ve no clue about desicions making new kits...

I do like Tamiya's 1/25 scale tanks, i have several of them, but how hard would it be to upscale it to 1/16, the work for most of the electronics(motors, recoil, speakers, DMDs, wiring, Flash units, is already completed, not too mention the TUs, it would be some engineering to make it fit in a new hull and turret, but i would think the expensive electronic part is done already. I dunno, i realize we are a fraction of their overall sales in RC, but i will keep hoping for a new tank.
