A bit of R&R
I’ve got a couple of shows/displays coming up, so I was trying to think how to add a bit of extra interest for a tank when she’s not being driven...working on a sort of field “repair”...I’ve ordered a LED welding simulator that I plan to tuck somewhere under the tarp as if she’s having some work done....https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...fcf762082.jpeg |
I'm going to have to add CCKW workshop and wrecker trucks to the printing queue
|
Lol yep...can you also do a quick dragon wagon while you’re at it...pick them up Sunday???? |
Might be a bit of an ask, as the printer is currently waiting for a replacement cable :(
I do have a set of 'slightly less than perfect' WC51 parts for you, you'll just need tyres and donor HL truck bits... |
Yes please :D |
I’m easily amused..... |

That's super cool. But then I'm easily amused too.

Following our conversation yesterday, I was having a rummage around and found this:
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...ddf40111eb.jpg Tamiya 1/35 US army maintenance set We know where to get the oil drums and step ladders from, and I have a bunch of tool boxes from various 1/18 scale sets, so that just leaves the crane, the welding gear, the compressor and the table to do. Made a start on the crane: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...8d4f459ad9.jpg Crane Test Prints to follow... |
Lol...love it...:) |
We’ve got the Dodge and the Greyhound, we just need an a-frame... https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...82735e3ef.jpeg |
well, I have plenty of spare axles... can't quite see how the A frame is attached to the Dodge tho - I assume its using the winch on the front?
|
Table:
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...9afa2aebe1.jpg Not sure how I'll print the vice yet  |
|
|
I’m going to go through all my spares boxes getting all the crates/Jerry cans/fuel drums I can find...lol |
We're also going to need some very fine chain for the crane.
First half of the frame has printed, should have the rest by tomorrow evening. I've got the valve and gauges printed ok, but the gas bottle itself will take 7 hours  |
rctank.de has some nice welding tanks and gauges if the 3d printing gets old.

The A frame attached to the front bumper i believe like the tow bar, then it had a fixed length cable that attached to the pintle hook after tailgate is removed, post war the A frame attached to the lifting shackles on the bumper on an M37 Dodge |

Well that was a scary 24 hours - my hard disk pooped itself and refused to boot
$20 later after a purchase and download of EasyRecovery and I'm back in buisnes... Firefox does seem to have eaten all of my browser settings, stored passwords etc in the meantime, tho... Anyway, I've recut the Gcode for the weld cylinders, with a lower resolution (i.e. larger layer height) I've gotten the print time down to an hour. More pictures to follow later tonight. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...d155e0422f.jpg |
