It should be secured with 6 screws. There are standoffs and holes in the box for them. Not sure if it's a mistake in the manual but it doesn't show screws fixing it down when the speaker box goes in. However the leo 2s I've had all.had the box.screwed in.

It gets fixed along with the top hull. The bottom has slots it goes into but is not screwed in. When you affix the top half, you screw the top hull into the speaker box, which secures it in place. Don't worry about the bottom, its more than secure even that way.

The speaker box mounting instruction is missing from the booklet, it actually is screw fastened to the hull.

Also the supplied hardware (screws) are slightly too small for proper mounting to the hull.

I used slightly larger screws to mount properly

Every Tank that I have owned I have stripped everything out of the Hull except the Gearboxes and lined the Floor and the Sides of the Hull with "Velco",
I then glued "Velcro" patches to the base of the Speaker, the Smoker, the Mother Board and the Battery,
Now everything is secure and yet I can simply lift it out as and when I need to and I have a lot more space in the Hull especially with the Battery on its side attached to the inside wall of the Hull by its "Velcro" strip.

The velcro is a good idea however in this case the speaker box is a structural component when using the stock ABS lower hull.

If you read the build note, I used the next size SAE screw (from hardware store), If I recall correctly the Tamiya screw is a 1/4"L 3mm dia., so the next size up in SAE would be 3/8"L 1/8" dia.
