Leopard 1 1A5 Turret in 1/16

Is anyone making a 1/16 Leopard 1 1A5 turret I know that Perfect Scale Modellbau was making one at one time but not now .
Is someone 3D printing one or is there someone else doing one after seeing Benjamin's 1/6 Leopard 1 1A5 id would like to convert my 1A4 .
Thanks
Jimmy

Check with Ludwig

He's the only one I've heard of offering one... soon? (let me know)

bowlman 02-13-2020 02:36 PM

I did see one on his site a couple years ago but nothing since thought it was something he was playing around with .

Dragunov 02-14-2020 05:59 AM

I printed my model and offering it on ebay. Its was only a test. I plan to create a kit from it.

But its only an early version, not the A5. If you want an A5 I could check if I can make the changes to the model.

ebay number: 164064175201

Yes that's what I'm looking for do you have the front mantel for it and the hardware to mount on it and the top for it .
Thanks
Jimmy

That number doesnt bring up anything on ebay
I was planning to buy the a5 turret and back date it to a plain or a1 for the kit I have here still in the box.

The number 164064175201 is for eBay Germany, tempting turret part.

Let me know when your kit is finished and what it has included. Love too see it as I too plan to backdate my Leopard.

I plan to add everything that is also part of my 1/6 model. Some parts like the basket and the railing should be built from wire. There will be holes in the turret to correctly position the wires. I will provide templates for the wire bending (I dont know if template is the correct term for it).

Dragunov 02-15-2020 07:05 AM

I made some pictures but I cannot post them because I havent got 10 posts. Will upload them later.

Dragunov 02-15-2020 07:21 AM

I plan to make the turret underside compatible with the Tamiya Leopard 1 model. Could anyone please provide some infos on how the turret rotating mechanism works? Some pictures would be great.

RichJohnson 02-15-2020 07:35 AM

Ebay Germany, ok thanks John. I would not have figured that out.

I have not opened my Leo 1 kit yet, but I have seen some aftermarket instrucion sets for rotation units and I understand that there is nothing in there to make it rotate from tamiya.
Someone that has one would have to photo it and post the mating turret and ring here for you to see.

I am very interested in your project and want an early 1a1 turret. If I couldnt get one I would probably not open the kit I have as I didnt want the a4 turret.

Correct. I have the instructions for my 1A4 in front of me. The turret simply attaches like a 1/35 kit.

Dragunov this should help you on the Tamiya turret mech .

I would also be interested to see more of what will be available in the "kit" form. I'm just now trying to get my original tank, Leopard 1A4 cleaned up and make it operational. Its been in storage for a few decades, but dry, the drives work though they'll be replaced.

Please keep me in mind for this product.

Thank you,

Happy Tanking,

Jim

The conversion of the CAD model to 1/16 is mostly finished.

Dragunov 02-23-2020 11:48 AM

The pictures show the different parts for printing. I plan to build the basket from sheetmetal and wire.
