Hooben E100

From Facebook. Looks like Hooben is finally going to release their E100. Wonder if it will be as big a trainwreck as the Maus?

In for plastic version....

Most likely going to use a construction method similar to the Maus. I like the Maus from Hooben well enough but the thin aluminum used was
mildly disappointing.

I think if they sold them as a gutted "kit" for a lot cheaper price, a lot more people would consider it. As it is I would have no interest in the electronics that come in this.

Yea, love how they promote that "metal chassis" when all they are referring to is their stamped sheetmetal lower hull - if its anything like the Hetzer, the entire suspension will be 3DP plastic. Based on the weight shown, it must contain a lot of plastic since my Mato Sherman weighs more.

Appears that Hooben deleted all the comments that were up earlier today - I noted that more than a few were searingly hostile towards what one could expect.

Agreed. Their electronics, radio are abysmal. First thing I did was bin the radio & ordered a TK80 for the Hetzer. Told a friend the electronics that are in my son's Double Eagle construction toys are better. Same goes for the overall build quality. ;)

From what I've seen of Hooben they are hostile to their customers also.

Credits for Hooben,
I'd prefer a plastic upper hull and a metal chassis though, just like most Tamiya tanks.

For all this time, I never get the point for having a full metal tank on the 1/16th scale. It only makes the tank a whole lot heavier. I mean...I'm not gonna be catching shells with a model tank, am I? Plus, Plastic is easier to paint, to mod, and to carry.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

But hey, I'd love to pay 1000bucks for an E100, as soon as they have a video intro shows it is good.

I must say it Looks Cool! Did you buy the Maus version Jerry? If so, please review! They definitely should release a Maus and e100 shell only kit.

Not really my cup of tea, though a E-75 or a E-25 on the other hand and I'd be damned keen. More paper panzers is always a good thing to me.

But a supply of E-100 tracks at a reasonable price will be nice.

As always with hooben, I'll wait until I see at least three or four forum members by one and say that they're worth the money before I even consider it. It's a real shame, too, because hooben comes up with some really good ideas so the fact that they've totally trashed their reputation is kind of a bummer.
