FRAG's NEW INTERACTIVE WEBSITE

Greetings: Most of you know the battlefield that FRAG built over a 20 year period was torn down this past May. As a result, we have incorporated the club and filed for our 501c3 tax status. We have also identified a property that we like (to be vacant in early 2021) for new indoor battlefields and other RC venues......and we have created a new interactive website to tell that story. Take a look at it at....... www.fragarmor.com Please let us know what you think. PP

PS: We also created a short promo vid, but it can not be posted here......so see it on Facebook at FRAG RC TANK GROUP Turn on the sound so you can enjoy it !!

BlitzPig 07-05-2020 10:14 PM

Wow! Those plans for the RC Pavilion are pretty cool. Too bad you can't post the video here. Like many others I don't do BookFace..

Michal_Kaczorowski 07-06-2020 12:42 AM

Your plans are very impressive!

rgburrill 07-06-2020 03:32 AM

501c3? How do you justify that?

Panzerpaul 07-06-2020 07:12 AM

As long as you set up your corporation as non-profit, fill out the IRS application (61 pages in our case.... 60 hrs of work) and pay them $850....you get approved unless you don’t meet their requirements. In our case we are (1) non political (2) educational (3) support social needs....ie Veterans and (4) are not a religious organization (although most model tanker’s wives prob would disagree)..... so we will get the approval letter once the IRS stops dealing w COVID issues and gets back to normal business. We did this in order to raise the funds needed to build out the Pavilion and the Museum..... another 20 years of challenge and fun 😃. It’s a great hobby.... please support our plans w a donation. Thank you 🎮

Looks great, makes me think I live in the wrong country, but then the news comes on and I have to go to a medical appointment, and the feeling fades fast :P
1 thing tho, under the tab comms intelligence is spelled wrong I believe.

Panzerpaul 07-06-2020 06:11 PM

Yes in deed.... and so is the word communications... lol. Even the proof reader is failing!!

Awenzel1979 07-09-2020 05:30 PM

Wow. Can't wait to see what you guys build this up to. Your last battlefield was very impressive. 500k is quite a ladder to climb.

Drool!!

Tanque 07-10-2020 09:44 AM

Ditto on the Drool, drool x2.

Y'know I'm looking to move from California. What are home prices like in sunny Colorado? I've long outgrown my home here
(not to mention the state itself). Now that I've got my toes in the 1/6 armor pool as well I'm covering 1/16. 1/10 and 1/6
So perhaps a road trip is in order....:D

Just so you know, Jerry, I absolutely can't wait to copy stuff from you in 1/6 scale. ;)

I really think you should do an Nashorn. That way, when you cast the tracks for it you can cast a set for me for my hetzer. :p

Welllll, ok. One thing I have to say is that 1/6 is so much larger than 1/10 that the track links are probably easier to cast using my methods (sand molding) than
1/10 is. However one of the draws for me to 1/6 is there's sooooo much more after market stuff available and the older I'm getting the less time I want to spend
at my mill and lathe. That is by no stretch means I'm giving up 1/10, no way. But unless something truly spectacular shows up either as a kit or substantial parts
upon which I can build a model I really want I'm unlikely to do much more beyond the models, kits/parts I have in 1/10... and that's quite enough trust me.

Make a pattern or two for a track link Crius, I'm presently doing pours so I'll mold up your link and see how they go..

But getting back to the thread's intent. I have always admired what FRAG has done and now like what Frag is planning. I am serious about wanting to move
somewhere but I dread getting all my stuff ready to go anywhere. And I'm unfamiliar present day Denver and the surrounding area. I should have gotten
serious about this 10 years ago.. Must take a look... One thing I'm 100% positive about is I want to make my next move my very last move so I need to
get it right.

That 'pavilion' plan is amazing.

Looking at the scale that is a rather large building with amenities

GO GO GO !

How about if I just send a couple of spare track links? If that's cool, PM me your address.

Tanque 07-11-2020 11:04 AM

You can but remember if I use those as masters the resulting part will be smaller by about 1.5% in all dimensions....

I'll send a PM if you want to try it.

That was an amusing episode!

Paul, that an one awesome project you guys are embarking on. I saw your post on FB & shared some screenshots with my fellow RC tankers here to show how its done right. With all the money here, I'd love to convince a few to help invest in an indoor field for IR battle but all they care to do is parade around obstacle courses which gets a tad boring.

Jerry, your can move over to my side of the pond. I'll set you up with a nice young thing but the import duty & VAT on your collection might put a dent in your wallet.

Panzerpaul 07-21-2020 09:24 PM

Thought you all might appreciate hearing that the IRS sent out our 501c3 non-profit approval letter yesterday .... only 60 days after sending us an acknowledgment letter that they had received our submission !!! Of course the package was sent in around 90 days bf that when COVID started up ..... so I’m guessing it set on someone’s desk all that time, who was working from home 🤣 Still, only 5 mos for approval is shorter than most experience and they backdated the effective date to our Oct 2019 incorporation date.

Anyhow.... we are officially a non-profit and your donations are tax deductible !! Please give generously to help us build new RC battlefields. Klick here.... www.fragarmor.com .....for the donation link. Thank you for supporting FRAG.

I'm not sure how I missed your reply Chuck... the nice young thing might be worth the VAT on my collection...heavens knows I've probably paid 100x that
over the years on dates, dating and the 'wrong young things' with very little to show for it.....
