Value in factory boxes?
 

Guys,

Going through my storage area I found old Tamiya boxes for the many 1/16 tanks I have had over the years. Is there any value to these or should I just throw them away?

You could always put them up on eBay as box only and see if anyone bids. As far as I know, they don't really have any value, but what's valueless to me might be precious to someone else.

Don’t know if the Tamiya RC Tank boxes have any monetary value. I have seen guys frame the “inside tank box art illustration flap”, which looked pretty cool hanging in their model building studios or man caves, though I am not one of those guys. I tossed the boxes and used a couple for spare parts storage.

I Have hanged the box art on the hobby build area wall .

Since you can't store the tank in the box after it's made there is no real use for the box except for the artwork. Too bad Tamiya did not design the boxes so they could be repurposed as tank carriers after the tank is assembled. Possibly re-construct the box with a carry handle, now that would be great!
