Plagues and viri

Old age and covid.
Gentlemen. Obviously I have not been here for a while. In late August my wife and I got hit with the new variant of covid 19 and ended up spending well over a month locked down to the hilt Covid treatment programs, I'm talking armed guards and no one, zero, allowed in or out. Having finally recovered from all that, danged if I didn't get it again and this last one danged near got me.

I have now completely recovered thanks to my charming bride VCO and Hospital #4 near us. It'll be a while before everything returns to as normal but at this time I can function reasonably and from time to time even string together a sentence.

Basically life goes on and ETO Armor will return. As it is now, getting parts for my transmissions can be difficult but slowly happening.

Best regards and good health to all!

Glad you are feeling better. I've worked from home since before Covid so I've only had it once...I think. Never tested, but it was months after vaccinated and it wasn't that bad for me. Texas doesn't have any restrictions in place anymore. Been that way for quite some time.

We are doing well, Jimmy, possibly the worst event was being sent to the new hospital in Balaklava for this last round of treatments. In general life is as always, shops and magazines open as normal and local PTB have put on draconian price controls on everything and checks them daily so no price gouging. Anything going on outside our town is of little import to us as it does not affect us.

Anyone who catches covid needs to get monoclonal antibodies as soon as possible. I have many comorbidities and had covid symptoms for all of 18 hours because as soon as I got sick I got tested since I had just gotten over the flu. As soon as the test result were positive I went and got the antibodies. 18 hours later I felt great, but couldn't smell or taste anything for another 2 weeks. The media has lied to us about a lot of things that work for political gain.

Somehow, my friend, I would tend to trust my two assigned Doktors at Hospital #4 with their 35 years of combined experience and a rather large Hospital standing behind them with Balaklava as backup a bit more than someone named "Desertlakesflying" hawking unknown chemicals.

There are always some who will try to profit from tragedy. I am not one of those.

Robert it is good to hear that you are doing ok. COVID isn't to be taken lightly and as you said I tend to go with established medical
protocol and treatments. May not be perfect but it's really the best we've got. Stay frosty, stay alert...

I have been trying not to be complacent when I do venture out so I still wear my mask, have my concealed carry hand sanitizer bottle at the ready
in a Berns-Martin triple draw and try to avoid close-in situations with others not known to me. I just recently received a second booster dose. Again
these things won't prevent us from getting it but hopefully will lessen the immediate and any long term effects.

Having to remain aloof plays to my strengths as I'm happy as a clam at home playing with my silly toys..

While we can of course get Sputnik here and it does seem to work quite well, I'm out of the official age range to get it and since I can't get it, VCO won't get it. Still and all, medical treatment here is well above first rate and all is Government Paid as long as you paid your 15 bucks and signed up fore same. I don't know how many CAT scans I've had but VCO does and she says it's a bunch. We start another round of treatment protocols late this week and this one I think will include chemo again. Worked like a champ last time last early summer so sawbones says nothing like reinforcing success. I actually slept through the chemo and had zero side affects, seems they load you up beforehand so side affects are minimal.

On the other hand we surely don't play games with this mess and whatever our head sawbones recommends, we do.

Robert, I'm very glad to find out that you and your family are okay. It's been a long time since I've chatted with you, or ordered anything from ETO, That being said, you've got some of the finest online service and merchandise in 1:16 scale or any other scale, that I've encountered.

Cheers from John in Virginia!

Now with 2 additional children, a 2 year old boy and a 4 year old boy. As well as a 22 year old boy, and a 24 year old girl. All doing well.

My friends, all is good here. Our shops and businesses are operating as normal, local government has put on draconian price controls and enforces them ruthlessly, otherwise it's a normal mid spring although this year the weather just won't warm up. By now our summer plague of main landers should be arriving to bring us another blast of covid but this year they are late (and a pox on the lot of them!) and the weather is as of this early dawn at 04:00 can best be described as colder than a mother-in-law's kiss. Frost in this village in mid May? Unheard of!

The good thing is all our medical expenses are paid in full, everything down to aspirin is covered. Only form I ever see is the 'sign here to show you are in Hospital #4 today' and Hospital Staff takes care of everything.

So your family is growing too! Our 'children' all have four legs and our newest, and pronounce this name fast, is Kristl'Yannah, She is a stunning blue merle that we just could not refuse and is roughly the equivalent of a nuclear power plant on four feet. She also has blue eyes which is rare for a merle and she never met anyone she didn't instantly love. We gave her to our other blue, Sophia, to raise and instill Sophia's gentle personality in the little fireball. So far it's working and the two are inseparable, even sleeping curled up together and eating from the same bowl.

Get well soon

I had it in October last year, I play the trumpet for a living, and it messed my lung up for quite a while, and I’m double jabbed, so god knows what would have happened if I wasn’t!
