Drive fast! :)

It's not really the tank you have to waterproof, it's the electronics. The brushed motors in these tanks can run underwater with no problem, but motherboards are a little more sensitive. Depending on the tank and how much space you have inside I've seen guys use small Tupperware containers, putting all the electronics in and sealing the container and having one hole for the wires to go in and out that is sealed up with silicone. I've never done one myself, but if I did I think I would stick to the less expensive Electronics, as opposed to something like an El mod or an ibu. Burning up a $50 board is one thing, burning up a $200 board makes you feel a lot worse. ;)

Really cool to see your tanks running through the water like that. I wouldn't be so brave to do that with mine, that's for sure! ;)

I didn't. :)

That's correct, Gary! This mud hole wasn't deep enough to worry about it, though. 😀

Thanks! I've overbuilt the Pershing. It's much tougher than a standard Heng Long. It does break tracks from time to time, but that's an easy fix. The Sherman is a Taigen with MATO tracks. I never have problems with it. When I run out of spare track links for the Pershing, I'll probably change it's tracks out to MATO as well.

Besides, I like working on my tanks almost as much as I like driving them! :)

Well I should drive more, I spend more time designing and building tanks than actually driving them lol

A plastic bag will work to keep the electronics dry too, and it's easier to fit into the tank hull.

I need to make a place to drive them. I'd drive them more if I had that.

Way back in the day, 1980ish, I got a Tamiya FOX RC as a kid. My dad did most of the building. It came with a rubber balloon to put the controller into! I wonder if you could make the RC Shermans waterproof like they did during the war, just by sealing all the seams in the hull. The crews had to do this to their tanks in many cases. I don't think they did any factory waterproofing until fairly late in the war.
