Iwaver tanks?

Anyone have any info on them? I was browsing tower and saw them.. and for $100 it doesnt seem like a bad deal at all... we're thinking of maybe setting up a battleground at the LHS and have some fun when we arent racing... any info???

RE: Iwaver tanks?

I saw the tanks being demo'd at RCX 2005 on an RCP Track, but I didn't really stick around to ask any questions about the tanks since so far I haven't been very impressed with the two Iwaver small scale RC cars I do own. I did check out their new proto-type Iwaver car which seemed better than the original two that I own. If you do purchase one, please post some feed back.

Its says it can over a bunch a sstuff, so thats cool. It might be fun to setup a race with them, then they could shoot at each other :D

haha yea, we were thinking of mounting up transponders and racing them... people looking at the results would be like... ***? tank a main? :) But we'd have to turn the guns off or summin cause i know like we'd all be dead halfway haha cant hide much on a straight, and 6 hits and your out :)

The owner of one of the LHS and myself spent some time driving one of the Iwaver Tanks around the store tonight. He had what appears to be two of the three different color schemed models. Over all, the tank appeared to run quite well on flat surfaces and over shoes. I tried a pretty step incline once but it couldn't handle it. When the firing button is hit, the thing really backs up and acts like it is firing. I tried to get the owner to set up the second tank so we could battle but he didn't want to do it. Darn. I actually wouldn't mind owning one but it would be a lot more enjoyable if a second person owned one as well to battle.

C.U._L8R -
My LHS got them in the other day. Funny that we all had the same idea. Have a shooting race through!! 2 ways to win, last one standing or 1st one over the finish line.

I think I'll have to put 2 on layaway tomorrow.

The LHS sold their tanks today--quick sales. Actually, the tanks didn't look too bad in my opinion. However, the Iwaver tanks didn't have fancy controllers and were not like those tanks costing several hundreds of dollars shown below. I took the attached photo at RCX 2005.

Hey, all! I just started looking into rc tanks. I saw the iwaver tanks on tower, and thats when I started looking around for them. The airsoft version is the one I would get. I found them on ebay too. They are sold by ToyEast. [ebay link]
They also sell the IR ones. Just thought you guys might like to know that the airsoft version can be gotten in the US. I would love to hear others opinions on the quality of these tanks.

RE: Iwaver tanks?

If you order off of eBay or from ToyEast, I doubt if Hobbico/Great Planes/Tower would warranty the Iwaver. And if I recall correctly, the Iwaver box I saw at the LHS showed three different RC Tank versions though the air soft version was NOT the one shipped to the local hobby store. The LHS did have the IR versions. I've also known of various US online websites that have sold and shipped the Iwaver RC Cars cheaper than ToyEast by the time the shipping is added to the final ToyEast sales price. However, I have not seen the Iwaver Tanks listed at those same US online retailers yet.

RE: Iwaver tanks?

The shipping is outragous. Its $34 to ship that to the US. If you look at the website for the tanks (www.vstank.com The 16th scale ones are the 'pro' version) you will see that they do have three diferent types (and three different colors in each type), the normal airsoft, the super airsoft(or airsoft with sounds and recoil), and the IR versions. How do these tanks compare to the Marui tanks? Are they good quality? Is it hard to control them with that type of control system(the buttons, and not the proportional sticks)? Thanks for the info!

RE: Iwaver tanks?

I've never tried to drive any other RC tank other than the Iwaver, so I can't really compare it from that aspect. My stick experience is limited to a flight simulator right now as well. The Iwaver controller was easy to use and it used buttons for different speeds. For $100 it wasn't bad, but of course, I didn't expect a lot for $100 though it would be interesting to find out if my Nomadio Sensor transmitter would operate it though since it has a tank mix.

RE: Iwaver tanks?

Looks like a Tokyo Marui knockoff... except it's infrared instead of 6mm airsoft. I think it will be hard to beat Marui's quality, especially at that price ($99). It will be interesting to see, though. An infrared gun is probably cheaper to make than the airsoft gun. Airsoft is much cooler, though, IMO! :)

RE: Iwaver tanks?

They sell an airsoft version. Look on ebay, under 'vstanks'. They just arn't avaliable directly here in the US. They arn't a Mouri knockoff, and they are sopposed to be better quality, but you can't really expect much for $100.

Hey..... just some info..... I bought an 1/24 Combat Tank M1A2 Abrams Nato RTR from my local Dick's sporting goods store in the air soft/gun section. They were on sale for about $98.00.

You have to be 18 or older to purchase it. Hahahahahaaaaa.....

My box looks like this, but with the NATO paint and mine shoots air soft BB's......
