Sounds like you are looking for more the robot quality of tracked vehicle, perhaps on the order of Robot Wars type construction... Way beyond what these RC tanks can do!

There are some rather large electric 6th scale tanks from Russia that will set you back about 3-6 thousand USD. At that price range and for your purpose, I would pursue the tracked Robots.

In such case get a Tamiya KING TIGER and modify it for heavy use with upgraded rear idler and heavy duty gear box from Willy's Custom R/C....Bet it would do the trick... Of course you will not use the turret and modify the lower hull/upper hull to attach your cable/wires... I think it may work and even mount a wireless video cam so you can see what is going on... ;)
need more info just let me know:D

What kind of cables are you pulling? Where are you pulling them? But anyway I would use an older KT or Leo 1 thay use 540 motors(1 each) and are "cluch"steer plus you can run a 55t(or more) lathe/puller motor.I run a 55t Lathe motor in my KT and just with a 4c pack it has great power and is slow anuff the use in "tite" places.

Is that 55t Lathe motor a direct replacement for a 540? Same size etc?

Do you have specs on the motor?

Cheers

Yes it is!!! It is a 540 size motor. It Integy 55t singel lathe/brusher(ajustable timing & rebuiltable) cutter motor thay run about 1200 RPM per volt with loads of torque.I run a 4c pack in my KT and get 26 scale MPH and anuff power to climb a steep an angle as ANY gear reductshion unite thay make BAR none.I can take pix if yopu want some.

I have did that for a liven a time or two LOL.Tanks go just about any where BUT thay have NO(very little)ground clearince and only can get "bite" on like a 2-4 inch high things say like 2x4s.If that can get grip thay can go just about any where and (mine anyway)can pull a fair amount weight.

How do you contact Wild Willy? I have been trying to for months/year for the gear reduction for the King Tiger. He never responds to e-mails.

Digger:

One of the better ways to get his attention is to flag the mail as urgent, and title it " Tank Reduction ORDER " , or catch him on MSN and notify him to watch for your mail. The other way is to use the link directly off his own webside, www.CustomRCModels.com under the tank section.

He gets lots of mail, and with a lot of it being spam or idle chatter, keeping the orders straight from the rest isn't easy. I've told him to make one specific e-mail for JUST orders, and advertise it as such, but no dice.

Barring that, others do sell reductions, but some of them are far from cheap, and quality is an unknown.
