Awesome Job! [X(]

Got the residue around the turret exhaust and everything. Looks like it has seen some serious action. It has a really flat finish, as well! [sm=thumbup.gif]

BTW, What brand/type of paint did you use?

Well..... If ya promise not to laugh I'll tell ya.
I used Rust-Oleum rusty metal primer,
Rust-Oleum high performance enamel white,
Dupli-Color flat black,
and Krylon off white,
all I did was just mist colors over in different place's to get the winter. rusty look I wanted.
I feel like a real redneck but ya know I really had a good time doing it.
The ides just popped in my head and I got going, I got so excited that I almost couldn't stop. It's driving me
crazy to wait for these decals[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
Thanks for lookin, and any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated

Ram:

Great overall paint job and don't feel bad about using Rustoleum -- I do the same. In fact, your exhaust looks fantastic -- I used Rustoleum black for mine. I'd spray it on, then dab it with an old terry cloth rag. Makes it look used and dirty, which is what I want it to look like. Plus, battle damaged and weld- and plate-repaired the way it was really done.

Here are few pics of my Rustoleum, house paint, and black powder burns applied to my 1/8 KT.

I learn as I go.

Cheers...

Not trying to cause a paint ball battle here, Tom....

@ Brock

I used all kinds of paints on mine. Some I won't ever use again, but anything that sticks, is dull when it should be dull, and shiny when it should be shiny works for me. Another is handling and cleaning ability. I don't want to have to wear rubber gloves to play with my tank. I would rather it be bright pink with purple dots and be able to drool all over it, if need be!

I bet you could leave your tank outside in a hail storm Brock (not that you would!), and the paint would still be in good shape. ;)

@Nav

I have King Tiger envy. :(............:D

Not only does it look great, it's HUGE! [8D]

Thanks, Capn.

I like working with the bigger ones. I had to make a ramp to get it onto the work bench. (My back complains nowadays when lifting in excess of 60 lbs). I also put wheels on the bench to scoot it out of the way.

Cheers....

That is a sweet KT. Thanks for the advice about the terry cloth. Can you tell me how to simulate runs in the whitewash from like rain?
I was wondering if you would recognize your old tiger lol;)
Thanks CapnCrunch, I am a novice but I like to experiment. Like I said its no where near what you top modelers are producing, but your right, I am not afraid to let mine get abused. If I had spent lots of money on it , it would probably end up a shelf queen, and lets face it thats no fun.
Tom, I am sure you paint could take lots of playtime but I have seen your work and it would be a shame to scratch or chip such magnificent work. I hope you didn't take any offense to anything I have said.

I value everyones opinions and honesty about my tank. Please keep the suggestions and tips coming
