Hey you Leo 2A6 owners... you get 4 spare smoke pots with each kit, right? (5x B sprues, 4 pots per sprue, parts B17 thru B20; assembly page 38, step 68) Now I'm not asking for any chain (is it 40links/inch, or 50?) and I got staples. I could use those spares to rebuild my 1A4's. Anyone willing to part with 'em, lemme know? PM or e-mail me as although this is allowed, negotiations online/in-forum are not. Thanks. I'm still hoping I don't have to replace my LCD monitor (its flaking on graphics since 16:00 today) as I'm trying to save for my own 2A6 (already have manual and MMI issue w/ review) I'm praying its an issue with PowerDVD, and not my cables, monitor or video card. i also put those same type of metal arms on mine.best thing anybody can do to the leo.it felt like it made the tank drive alot better.i had to use automotive primer before the acrylic would stick.</p> |

In several scales, too! The site also has some awesome looking tank crew figures (with barrets), as well as more detailed old style Leo 2A4 skirts that I ended up scratch building. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gif stcla1r, I have some flat OD green Krylon paint that I'm hoping will cover them well. I also have the Tamiya primer for metal, but I hate painting a second color over white. |

Yeah, I used a translator on the site and couldn't figure it out either. I did learn that <span style="font-weight: bold;">'</span>Versandkosten' means 'Shipping' in English! On another note..... Been messing around with some modeling techniques I stumbled across. May have finally found the perfect way to make the Barracuda type camo netting! It's a bit of a tedious and time consuming process, but the results are well worth it. Just so happen to have a wood carving tool that is close to 1/16 scale for cutting the matte medium soaked tissue paper, too! www.plasticwarfare.se/ |

I was impressed by the pics they had of the tank theyhad on theLeo in Detail section. Do you have any idea of what the chord running round the bottom of the turret with the bolts on it? What you might be referring to is the sensor parts of the MILES gear. They are Velcro straps that go around the outside of the turret. The bolt looking parts are the actual sensors themselves and are plastic with the electronics inside. The straps are a green color and carry the wires into the main unit inside of the turret.
Since the straps are velcroed to the turret, you can sometimes spot older tanks with the receptive piece of the Velcro. Either that or places where even those parts have been peeled off, leaving a sticky stripe on the turret that collects dirt, such as this picture: |

BAD news... if you want a lot of stuff. I got a decent translation out of Bablefish. I'll tack it on the bottom , but basically, if your order is under 20 euro, you pay 2 euro postage. Unfortunately, the netting doesn't stay in one piece very long. Especially when you use double sided tape to attach it to the tank and can't decide whether it looks better with it on, or off! The manufacture-to-use ratio is a very sharp downward slope. Anyways, I've become very bored with RC tanks in general. Perhaps if there was a club or something in the area, it may have been more interesting. |

It's unfortunate that you've been struck with boredom of this hobby, I wish I had a club around here also, but I've too much money invested in this hobby to let myself get bored of it, lol. Great looking Leo by the way.

In response to your other thread (I'll put stuff here to keep from clogging up your build thread). I ended up leaving stuff off when I built it. The first pictures show that (missing headlight covers, etc). I did brush paint mine, however. The smoke grenades and the lights (fiber optics) were the biggest PITA. I may not remember other parts of the build, but those stick out really well. The rear exhaust covers where blocked from the inside with tape and the large radiator grill on the rear was blocked off with a foam piece, cut to fit the opening. I did that after running it a few times and dirt/dust and even bugs were getting inside the hull. Just a few things to consider, until I think of more. :D |

If you pulled the battery before storage and kept the tank out of the tide surge, it should fire up.

Was going to try and get it going today, but the (ten year old) battery became a problem. Seems there might be a shelf life on those things. Don't know what went wrong but it started smoking and caught fire. It happened quick!. Had the foresight to do it outside, so nothing ruined but the battery. Time for a new battery and charger, I guess. |

John, come to find out, not sure it was the battery. More than likely it was the Prophet Plus charger I'm using. These were recalled in Canada due the very same issue, because of incidents like mine here in the U.S. So don't ditch your batteries just yet.
I'm really wondering If I should rebuild, clean, and re-grease the gearbox. |

Hi, Battery life issues or not noted. I refreshed my Leo 2 cosmetically, plus greased the transmissions last April 2020 at around the 10 year build anniversary. Never running this model very hard and of late not at all, it didn’t need much up keep. The Tamiya white transmission grease was still clean. White Wolf McBride was a interesting, good guy, into Leopard 1 tanks as I recall. John

Went to the local hobby store a few days ago to get a battery. Ended up coming out with a Rustler 4x4 and no battery for it. I'm weak.
Went through the gearbox and it all looks good considering how long it's been. I wholeheartedly intend on getting a battery for it in the next couple of days, though. It must be getting jealous of all the attention being given to it's bigger, 4 wheeled nemesis. |
So, I put the battery in the Leopard. Electronics work great. Only problem is, it seems really stiff when pivot steering and the right side track pops when doing a right hand turn. Left turns are ok. When it turns right, the track acts like it wants to pop off the sprocket and slide under the first road wheel (not the idler wheel). Checked track tension and it's OK (it has the upgraded tension parts). I've begun tearing things down to see if I reassembled something wrong after checking the gearbox. Also gave the tracks a good bath and cleaning. Now I'm wondering if there is a problem with the 'turn side' motor or perhaps the gearbox itself. *** ALL GOOD NOW*** see below
