what is a good brush motor replacement for the tamiya stock motor

The Multiplex 480 is an excellent choice. Great combination of torque and speed. The problem is finding a US distributor, since Tower and other retailers stopped selling them. The emphasis now is on brushless motors. You can still get them from Multiplex Germany, but the cost will be higher, probably $18.00 each.
