Tank Battles?

So do people ever use there tanks in anger against other tanks?
I have had great fun building obstacles or trying to find its limits over the rough stuff.
I would guess that playing against another tank or tanks could be a lot of fun!

While browsing the web I found a place in the US that seemed to have a 1:16 battle area / village that sounds like just the thing I could do with - now would I get a way with some minor alterations to the back garden .........

Must be talking about the Danville battlefield. Yes, with the TBS system electronic 'lazer tag' adds a whole new dimension to the RC tank experience!

When the TBS compatible system is out for the HL, WSN, Trumpeter etc. tanks, then everyone will have the opportunity to battle each other!

SCAT in Callifornia hosted a battle in August, that we (DAK) traveled to. Their battlefield is great. Check out either www.socalareatankers.com or www.desertarmor.com for more pictures.

The UKTC has some very impressive battlefields at Mark's dedicated field (mostly for 6th scale)!

Der Panzergraf, there's lots of clubs that do RC Tank combat, check www.rctankhq.com although I am not sure if there are any UK groups that hold 'battles'

Nev, the UKTC has means for battles, although usually displays, trial course and dios for pics, but they do have some sight and rule measure tactics for fielded battles.

Armortek has a 40 page comprehensive battle guidelines for 6th scale tanks! :)

I think it would be great is there was such a thing in the UK although I guess that there are not to many people here who have realised how much fun the tanks can be and those that have are a fair distance apart.

My sons and I have devised a bit of a tank battle which not only allows the direct attack on an opponent but their outposts as well. We set up 5 or six banners of thin crepe in red or yellow, depending on which side you represent. These are affixed across a u shaped metal frame and strategically placed into the ground on each players side. Each represent targets that each tank must defend or loose the battle. It takes one hit per banner, airsoft pellet must penetrate the tissue, to effectively take that target. Here the tanks are committed to more than just wailing away at each other. Of of course the possibilty exists to take out your opponet directly. Only one shot in the rear, two in one side and three on the glacis will do them in. Each battle is timed for 30min and a third player is an obsever/umpire when he is not driving. It works for us and can be a real blast.

That sounds like a great idea!
A good basis for a game between two or more tanks now all I need is a willing opponent.
I guess is a good excuse to buy another tank or 2!

RE: Tank Battles?

I have had an idea for BB battle for a long time now, there will be abt 10 stand up targets onthe battle field on each side, the 2 teams will have to take out the opponent targets in said time. The thing is, all the tanks on teh field cannot die since, it will be hard to tell whom had die if there were more than 2 tanks involved. So the goal is to take out your opponent targets. The catch is, you can use your tanks to sheild your target. This will allow more than 2 tanks to battle without the need of a referee.

My son, his friends an I set up a 'target range' consisting of 1/18th figures positioned on buildings, vehicles etc and take turns to see if we can knock one over, that's good fun.:D

Of course I 'have to' play with the kids because BB tanks require adult supervision; that's my excuse anyway:D
