hey, how do you maintain your tank? the pins were coming out on my tracks so i put just a little glue on the edges. do i need to oil anything? grease the gearbox? the wheels are squeeky lol. i've put it through some tests and it goes through more stuff than i thought (clumps of soft dirt, rocks, gravel. i havent even thrown a track yet! (i threw tracks all the time with my old tank.

When i ran my tiger on sand the bottom hull was covered in sand[X(] gearboxes, everything so i hung and drenched the hull through with WD40 and it cleaned all the sand out no problem :D
Before the crunchy sand noise was beginning to annoy me lol [:@]
yeah ditto on the superglue and a little grease on the gearboxes now and then i reckon [sm=thumbup.gif]

Watch those sqeaky road wheels in time those will wear down the axels, and the inside of the road wheels. I had to fabricate plastic bushings to refit mine on a Bulldog. Showed some wear at about 50 hour's, were gone at 80 hours. Since rebushing it, I now use chainsaw bar lube in a suirt can to shoot a little in the road wheel, axel, spot. It be imposible to keep grease in there. That stuff is liquid enough to run in the gap, and sticky enough to stay. I grease, clean, gearbox, "metal", every 20 hours and give insides a general cleaning. Oh and super glue is a must for the track pins. It now has 150 hours on it since August.

well i went ahead and greased the gears, TRIED to fix my smoke unit, and already glued the tracks. Rathead, how do you remove the road wheels. I'm not sure if you just pull off or what, dont wanna break it.

You might not need to remove them yet, mine were worn to the point that the wheels fell off, "cause" the scew could no longer hold with the hole in the wheel rounded out. They are held by a screw, behind the fake hub covers. Only way I know to get to the screw is to break the hub covers off. They are glued on but some come off easy and some didn't. I even tryed splitting the wheels in half, worked on a couple, but the hub thingies still blocked access to the screw. Some came off easy some broke off jagged. If they break off bad they'll need some repair' IE modeling, to reinstall them. This is on a Bulldog, Pershing might be the same but I dont know. You can lube them without removing them. Lube the wheels from behind where the axel and the wheel join, and you can see were to put the lube in. Thats with them still on. Remember it was only after extensive run time that they were worn this bad.

ok. well after waiting a day for the seal to be completely dried on the smoke unit, it still doesnt work[&o] i'm mad[:@] and sad:(

Have you tested it to ascertain whether it is getting current or not? These are very simple mechanisms and at the same time they are tempermental.

If all else fails, order replacement smoke units from Matotoys. You get two in a package so I'm not sure what that means--maybe it means they're crap anyway and are destined for early failure. [:'(]

i probably won't replace it. i like it even though it doesnt smoke. it would be nice if it did though. and you know the stuff you sent me? well anyway thanks again. i've updated the paintjob a little. there is a ammo can that isnt just an ammo can. it has something else hooked with it. i'm not a pro but know a little, but not this. what is it? where should it go? it was pretty hard to find a spot to put them on the tank.
