Yep you can alter the pivot speed slow enough so you can turn the gun the opposite way so it stays 'still', that looks cool! The Pershing also has a 'rev' mode that the other Tamiyas don't have where you can gun the motors (sounds)in park and then put the tank into drive.

how fast is it i had an old leo that i put a 3 speed controller in it to slow it down

It has proportional speed control,top speed is about right in scale terms.
