Turret length

If the turret on the HL Tiger has to be shortened, where would the correct spot be? Have seen posts saying to cut 5mm out of the middle area, from what I can figure out, it needs to be shortened at the front at the gun trunnions. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

RE: Turret length

That's the thread I saw. After re-reading this, I dug out some scale drawings, did some measuring. Removing material from the middle is sort of correct . I will be doing this mod as well as cutting a correct size turret ring.

My aim is to put in a proper breech loading air gun and a new steering box. Oddly enough, an 88mm gun in 1/16th scale IS .22 caliber. I will eventually be posting pics, but not till it's done. Can't give away any secrets!

Thanks,

Don

Don:

What caliber would be the right scale for a 1/8th tiger?

RE: Turret length

In 1/16th scale a milimeter is .0625mm. 88 X .0625=5.5mm or .22". In 1/8th scale it would be .44 caliber.

That would be so wild, a Tiger with a .44 Magnum!!!!!
