Sherman paint

Hi all.
Started spraying my sherman the other evening.I am using Tamiya olive green through an airbrush.
I am not too convinced by the colour at the moment,I don't think I've done much of a good job spraying it (very inexperienced with an airbrush).I did kind of try to spray it on lightly to try and achieve a shading effect,I think I need more practice though.
I've included a couple of pics to show what I have done.
I am learning to use the airbrush so any pointers will be most welcome.

I used Tamiya olive drab XF-62. I brush paint my tanks, as I think airbrushing is too perfect for military vehicles.

That true tanks are not the prettiest painted vehicles, But I think it looks very good especialy if you have no exsperiance with a Air brush. The only thing to me is the shine. Take some black wash and some Dull coat to it with some black chalk dust and you will have a Show peice.

I think I need to go over some of the parts again.
Main trouble is that some is applied too thin. Will give the the road wheels a second go and see what happens. The idlers I am happy with and have since painted on the black tyres.
Unfortunately the pictures do not really give a true idea of the colour. It does look very green in places but I think you are right that weathering will tone it down.I have dull coat to finish it with also.
Thanks for the comments. Will post more pics as I progress.
Cheers.
