A simple problem
 

Out of the 7 screws holding the HL deck to the hull, thanks to an ham fisted assembly worker and far too short screws, only 2 actually grip.
Just wanted to know what is your remedy?
Before now i have split a match down its length and glued it in the stripped hole so giving the screw something to grip on.
But i've got a feeling these screws will need to be removed very often so was thinking of gluing in threaded inserts and using machine screws, unless you have a easier remedy..........

I would fill the holes with model glue and then screw in the screws and leave them to set, the glue should set and since it doesnt bond to metal the screws can be removed.

You could also drill out the holes and use slightly larger screws. This worked for me.

I like the idea of using metal threaded inserts as they don't strip.

I used to play around with 1/24 scale slot cars, and whenever a post was stripped, Iwould insert some aluminium tubing into the bore hole in the plastic post. Aluminium is soft enough for a screw to easy tap itself. I had to do this on my Tiger for the front mount

Out of a total of 20 screws undone to strip the cannon out 12 were stripped, would like to have done things properly but i opted for oversize screws and my old faithful method of a very thin strip of a match glued in with cyano, didnt have the patience to machine 12 inserts or 20 to make it nice and neat, maybe when i retire.........

If using threaded inserts is way too involved, I would go with what ACG said but with a variation:

Use epoxy or something like JB Weld to rebuild the posts and with a screw inserted so it molds to the threads. To insure that the epoxy releases the screw, coat it with a "mold release agent"; something like a thin coat of silicone grease so the epoxy won't adhere to it.

You will be visiting the inside of the tank's hull from time to time so something must be done to make the screws more user friendly.

Now why would i want to be doing that then ?
I'm already visiting the inside of the tank's hull trying to get the electrics to work again (which i havn't touched) and i havn't even put the thing back together yet.

Oh come now. You know you will eventually fry one of the circuit boards don't you? ;)

That is one of the chief recurring themes on this forum; fried boards and how to replace them. I haven't had the problem... yet, and there's not much of a chance you will unless tank abuse is one of your hobbies. I think people over-stress their tanks and then wonder why they smell the odor of melting plastic.
