Dead HL Pershing

I switched my tank on yesterday, the lights started blinking as normal, but when I pressed the ignition button on the controller, nothing happened. I tried it again a bit later and after pressing the ignition button a few times, it did eventually start up, but wouldn't move, and then wouldn't switch off. I had to switch the tank off using the on/off switch underneath. I have had it apart tonight but can't see any loose wires, and all batteries are charged. Has anyone else had a similar problem?[:o]

Just had a similar problem with my tiger... did what you did took it apart
nothing ... took transmitter apart no loose wires.... after putting them back
together i noticed when i touched the crystal on the tranny the red light
flickered ... took it apart and found where the crystal plugged in the holes
were so big hardly any contact ..squeezed them together and all is fine ;)

Had a look at the crystal, but nothing seems to be wrong, but tank still will not switch on. Got absolutely no idea what is wrong with it, it was fine last time I drove it. Have looked inside tank, inside transmitter, checked battery, but cannot find a problem.

Swap in your spare crystals. If that doesn't work, swap the boards with your spare. No spares? tsk! tsk! :D

I had the exact same problem with one of my Tigers, and it turned out to be a bad board.

Had the Tiger with the bad board worked previously? Might try new crystals! Must be something wrong with it!!

Yep, the Tiger with the bad board was working perfectly until I took it out and drove it in deep snow one day, which stalled the motors and I guess fried the board.

Did you save that board Richard? Someday another board will blow only.. say the turret rotation transistor. Then you can desolder the one from the board with the blown motor transistors and get back in business. I write down what went wrong with each board and place them in a sandwhich bag and all are in a 1 gallon bag. Unfortunately the bag is getting full! My good board bag is getting light, only 2 spares left!

Unfortunately, I did not save that bad board. Oh well. It's almost time to restock for me.
