too bad not all the tanks are Abrams!

RE: 2007 release VS Tanks

Looks are deceiving! Too bad not all Vstank Tanks are made alike, even though they may ALL have the NEW controller.

Just bought the IR 1/24 M1A with the new controller like the Tiger 1. Initially, I thought that since it has almost the same controller, the M1A should be able to drive around a curve smoothly like the Tiger 1, but alas! I was totally disappointed - Still the same jerking when it turns! The only turning that it does is pivotal turning! And both fire buttons only activates the main canon! Where is the machine gun function?

This really makes me fuming mad. Why in the world did VStank.com advertised their new IR series as being capable of ""Machine gun function for more diverse battles" and "two turning speed while turning"?

I feel so deceived.

:eek:You mean to tell me the new VS with the new radio don't work like the tiger?
(when you hold down a faward button and press one of the left or right turn buttons when the tank is moving does it turn or does the tank stop faward movement then turn?)
:D please get us a video of it running if you can

When you press the forward button and the FL or FR button, it actually STOPS and TURNS. And this happens to all the three forward speeds! It will NOT turn smoothly like the Tiger.

Frankly, I'm fuming. How can VsTank give false impression in its website?

[X(]what a joke!!!
They are ruthless!!
One way to tell if they just made a modified radio is to see if it works with a older version VS tank if you have one...you will need to change the radios crystal.

It does seem that the so-called New M1A is nothing but the old M1A with a re-wired 'New' Controller. I still have my old leopard controller in my office. Will get it tomorrow and do a test on my 'new' M1A.

Will let you know how the test goes tomorrow.

[X(]Every button works to control it! yea looks like VS skimped out on us!!!
Is the new radio at least easier to use than the old one to drive the tank?
I may get one for the new radio if so.

Well, to give credit when it is due, Yes, the new controller is better than the old one. At least I can now move, aim, and fire at the same time. Also the light weathering done on the M1A is quite nice.

RE: 2007 release VS Tanks

:DNope only my IR series i did not like them because all the VS tanks shot each other from like 30ft apart indoors and VS decided to make the tiger's only hit each other from like 15 or so feet apart and messed up the whole IR battle gaming system in my eyes

RE: 2007 release VS Tanks

my M1 and Leopard both turn very smoothly. They sometimes make very wide turns because if you make a turn at top speed, the track that stops getting power is simply freewheeling and not acting as a brake. A neat feature IMO.

RE: 2007 release VS Tanks

I got a 2007 Leopard2 A6 it should have the machine gun sound for more diverse battles but where is it? Even with the new controller my sure doesn't turn very smooth. the free track I find acts very much like a brake. No curves just 360 turns on the spot.

RE: 2007 release VS Tanks

Why didn't they use simple controls like Heng Long? Is there a way to convert to sticks without changing the electronics in the tank? Would be a shame but a worthy trade off to switch out those electronics for better control but lose the gas turbine sound for a radial engine!

RE: 2007 release VS Tanks

James you can't do that ... the new tiger I controller and ESC in my opinion works just as good maybe better than the HL S&S system... It's just that only the latest tanks they will use the tiger I electrics in but also keep the tiger I sound for all the new tanks wich is stupid on VS's part....I put HL S&S radio and electrics in my 1/24 abrams and Leo A5 they drive like a chrm now!:D

I just can't get into 1/24 - too small, too light (lighter than a mouses kidney). They can have all the suspension in the world, they hardly use it. They sort of just zip and thump over jumps... for the money I expect more lol

Well, happily that's not true for the Tiger. Somehow Vstank managed to get the Tiger 's suspension just right - Watching the suspensions at work while going through even the slightest uneven terrain is simply fantastic. :D IMHO the only thing that they got it wrong with the Tiger is the crappy sound effect. [:@] Rectify this and I'll rush out immediately to grab another Tiger. :)
