Ebay Tanks?
I have been looking for a few tanks for a few now and I am getting close. I have looked at my LHS and they do not have a lot to offer. So the next place to look is on Ebay. I have found a few here and there but every where I look I find these “RC Battle Tanks” They look like the same ones you can find at some of the Web sites you guys listed. For the price they are very tempting! What do you all say about them? They are Air Soft ones but that does not really matter.

RE: Ebay Tanks?
Never buy an HL tank that does not have smoke and sound. I suggest you buy from Mato.

RE: Ebay Tanks?
I did the same searching... ebay, etc. and bought from Mato

RE: Ebay Tanks?
You can buy the HL tanks from dealers right next to you in california, cheaper and you will have them in a day or two.Banana Hobby $69.90 Radintec inc. is even better, bought several of my tanks there and their shipping rates are cheap. The shipping on two tanks in one box was $17.20 to ship to washington state.Had them in 4 days.Type in RC TANKS in your web search
and check out some of the prices on the different sites.Speaking for myself,I wouldn't buy a 5 cent candy bar off ebay. But thats me---;);););) BIGMIG |

RE: Ebay Tanks?
Banana's shipping cost to Canada are a bit high $58.80!!! for 1 tank
|
RE: Ebay Tanks?
Ya,Banana hobby has good prices but has pretty high shipping.Even here in the U.S. their shipping is to high.Radintec is your best bet for all around prices and shipping. For the guys in Canada,Mato is probbly the best place to buy. When you have to deal with shipping across the border in either direction it gets expensive. RE: Ebay Tanks?

RE: Ebay Tanks?
buddy of mine bought a panzer from raiden tech. came broken, never heard back from them.
|
RE: Ebay Tanks?
i always use mato and with the sale they have it costs me 106.11 total to my house and thats with ups shipping
|
RE: Ebay Tanks?
If you want to see a price I don't think you can beat anywhere,(although they are currently sold out at this time)Radinteck sells (2) 1/16 scale S&S tanks=the tiger & M26 snow leopard for $124.95----------I have not seen any place come close to that price===$62.50 each for S&S tanks. My panther from Mato I just bought a few weeks ago I paid $82.00 plus shipping and more than 10 days to get it.I'm not knocking Mato, glad they are there and have a good supply of parts at a good price.

RE: Ebay Tanks?
BIGMIG...I did take advantage of Mato's sale, but I am also interested in a IR system

RE: Ebay Tanks?
Ya I think Mato is the cheapest and best place for you guys in Canada. You get your orders a lot cheaper and faster there than you do from south of the border. BIGMIG

RE: Ebay Tanks?
ive always gotten my stuff fast from mato .order on monday have by that friday afternoon as for the 2 pack from raidentech my brother inlaw ordered on set for his boys both came in this huge box and were both DOA and the tigers suspension arms were all broke on one side .also their customer service is not so great .but its different for everybody. me i dont mind the little extra money in shipping because if i need a part even if it isnt listed all i have to do is ask murphy and 9 times out of 10 he will have it as well as the free parts he usually has .

RE: Ebay Tanks?
Just a note for anyone who orders from them. The good part about buying two at a time,I asked them to make sure they packaged them with the top of each tank facing inward toward each other for more protection during shipping. And that was how I received them. The most fragil part during shipping is the top of the box.Every thing else is protected by foam but the top.I have also started asking the shippers to mark these boxes "FRAGIL".The guys loading the trucks have no idea what is in the boxes they stuff in a truck to ship half way around the country. The panther I got from Mato had the muzzel brake busted but I was able to glue it back togeather and you can't even hardly see it.That seems to be the hardest part, getting them delivered without dammage. RE: Ebay Tanks?
With the web sites out there I have narrowed it down to a few tanks that I will more then likely getting at least two to start with. The thing that blew me away with the tanks is that coming from RC trucks you never buy off brands and nothing from web sites like those. Hopefully I will get some insight from the any local guys that I read this Forums and I will have an idea of witch way to go on the tank air soft or I/R.

[/quote Wel if thats your approach and you understand the difference between hobby and toy grade then I can assure you that rc tank hobby has the same distinctions and you'll get what you pay for. Want a hobby grade tank..get a Tamiya.....want something cheap..then do that and dont have high expectations or expect it to work when you get it. |
RE: Ebay Tanks?
Um. Mato has metal gears. On all their tanks.... Raindentech does not. They also have cheap metal combos. I wouldn't buy an 800 tamiya, and I wouldn't buy a 55$ raidentech again. I would buy a $119 metal tracked and metal wheeled metal geared mato.
I wish they would carry the 1/12 scale panzer I have seen on ebay. I want one, but I want metal. Any thoughts? -=Bill |
RE: Ebay Tanks?
If you want one of the 1/12 scale panzers I would stay away from ebay. These are only made by hailiang. If you buy one of these and pay more than $65.00 dollars you are getting "stroked".Buy your Panzer and get the up-grade parts from Mato and turn it into a nice working tank.I saw someone trying to sell these on EBAY( $26.00 for the tank and over a hundred dollars for shipping) Do people actually buy from these clown's.For less than $20.00 here in the U.S.,you can ship a typical 1/16 scale tank from one side of the states to the other. Want a hobby grade tank..get a Tamiya.....want something cheap..then do that and dont have high expectations or expect it to work when you get it. I thought mabe you could help some of us newer guys out and do a little comparrision write up on some of the differences between the tamiya and the HL tanks.I have never seen or owned a tamiya.I assume you have or had both brands.I have 5 HL tanks and know and have learned quite a bit about them.I have only had one problem with mine and it was a noisy metal gear box in my Panther.I have looked at them on Tower hobby,$519.00 for the cheapest and $939.00 for the highest priced one.No radio,Battery, and charger. A typical HL costs $70.00 dollars give or take a few bucks.I would surely hope one would get more than a bunch of plastic parts in a box for over $400.00 dollars more in price and you have to put it togeather. And I would also think one will end up with a tank only as good as the guy that puts it togeather. And in these prices for the Tamiya one also has to factor in the cost of a four chanel radio.I'm not trying to be a wise guy here,I would really like to know about these Kits, and I'm sure some of the other new guys on here would like to know also that don't own one.Hope you can take the time to do a comparrision here for us.Thanks, BIGMIG ;);) |
RE: Ebay Tanks?
GUYS
Down the bottom of eBay item pages is a Section " Other Options " and the second link is "Report this Item", thats for when an item violates eBay policy. Extortionist shipping is against policy. If these jerks get reported, they get warned, and if they ignore it enough and reports conmtinue, they get their accounts pulled... poof, g'bye feedback! And YES... you CAN report them without having to be a bidder on the item. Do NOTY count on getting eBay & PayPal to step in after the fact to 'refund' the overage on the postage, because most are adding fine print about 'by bidding you accept all terms, which means you accept the rediculous shipping rate. READ ALL THE AD TEXT. Said it before, and will repeat it every time this issue comes up until these guys get erased from eBay on the ~second~ offence. and YES, I do report 'em when I see 'em. Mato's eBay shipping may seem high, but he quotes the MAX shipping he may bill, but I e-mailed them about it, you may not get charged that amount. |
