1.8th Stuart Problem

I have a friend who, like me, has a 21st Century 1/8 Stuart M5 tank. He told me after setting up for the winter in the garage, the tank will run for about 30 sec and then lurch forward a couple of times and then quit to run no more until he gives it a rest of 3mo min or more. He has replaced the battery but to me it seems he has a problem with something in the drive board electronics that is over heating. Any one have any similar problems or suggestions on how to rectify the problem?

Appreciatively,
Falke

JF:

Has he re-charged the battery after letting the beast sit for who-knows how long? Sounds like you've got a near-flat battery. The load makes it drop below operational point, and the few minutes lets it recover, and then you hit it again. You should put the battery on charge. No battery will hold a charge indefinately...

Double check the battery's first( transmitter & receiver ),next I would open it up and look for loose wires.I'm not familiar with that particular tank, but is there other controls on the tank for gun movement,or gun fire.If so do they work like they should??
Trouble shooting is a process of elimination, and it can be a real pain trying to track down the culprit.Wish I could be more help. Good luck---BIGMIG;););)
