T-34 engine grill replacement
Thought you guys might like to see how I replaced my WSN T-34 engine screen. I bought this metal screen package at Micheals Crafts. Wasn't very expensive and its enough to last a lifetime.
I cut out the original solid grill and thinned the edges. Superglue with accelerator got the grill in place. The frame work is some thin sheet metal I had laying around. The bolt heads are plastic rod cut offs. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...2/IMG_0006.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...2/IMG_0004.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...2/IMG_0005.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...2/IMG_0011.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...2/IMG_0009.jpg |

RE: T-34 engine grill replacement
Beautiful grille -- I'd like to put one on my T-34.... !! Just what kind of "sheet metal" did you use for the framework?
Great work! |

In the unpainted pic is looks like the surface has been burnt or something. If painted right it could look like pitting and rust.

Looks great. I love finding stuff at hardware stores or crafts stores for my tanks. It turns a trip to the home imporvement center into a hobby shopping experience!!!!

I may still block off the bottom of the grill with fine black plastic mesh since you can still see the speaker and wires underneath. To bad they put a halfway descent speaker in there just to hear the lousy cannon sound and NO engine sound. It almost sounds like the cannon blast recording is playing in reverse!
