Something Different
Hello I just hought it would be Nice to show where the magic happens when we Paint and build our tanks. I built the paint booth and the Work bench over the weekend. The paint booth has been tested for Fire Hazards..I had to find a new place to Work on my Tanks since the wife was getting tired of smelling Paint and seeing parts spread out over the kitchen Table. The paint booth cost me 50 Bucks and the work bench was 60. Not bad for 110.00 from Lowes....;)

looks good. well i guess if i learned how to paint bodys iwould just take them to work and use our Paint booth there. tomor when i go to work ill take some pics of the big booth. but i would love to have a work bench like that. i eather use the floor or the table. and the wife looks at me with the stink eye.. lol... but doesnt get mad at me. well good job on the wood work... Looks great!! I was just working on a spray booth for myself and was told direct air fans instead of squirrel cages fans are open spark and will ignite the fumes. What type of fan are you using?

Just a plain 13 dollar Bathroom vent fan. No light in the fan Used a 50W Hologen light. it went through some testing over the weekend . Sprayed Lacqure,Thinner.And 90% rubbing alchol through my airbrush......as you see no BOOM!! But a fire exstinguisher is gonna be something that acompanies my paint booth..Just to be on the safe side. This fan is not brushed. just a electromagnet turning a solidstate magnet....... The light was something I was more concerned about but It gets warm to the touch never got hot to where I coulnd touch it...

This is a corner of my kitchen. The fan is next to a window and sucks out the fumes. It's pretty messy like that from the time I start a project to the time I finish. It's only clean in between.. that's just how I roll..

The wood and peg board are from Home Depot and the painting hood was free. It was on the side of the road on trash day about 3 years ago. The hood is from an old stove with working fan. Great find. My work space cost about $170 US dollars.

Nice idea for a thread ;) I've only just finished getting my 2 workshops built so they are very bare at the moment, that didn't stop me from painting a Walker Bulldog today though :D Very primitive setup so it's hardly worth a picture as I am just using an old garden table and some plastic sheets for the paint booth at this time, I'll probably have to wait till after Christmas to get any proper work surfaces and painting areas build, as soon as I do I'll post some pics.

Yeah I thought it would be interesting to see where it is that our hobby is done..Besides giving advice on Modding tanks which seems to get repeated a 100 times over.

lol, I was just about to say you must live in a gigantic house to have a workshop that size Kuppler [X(] A dream setup there and it's given me a few ideas particularly for the paint booth.
