Hi guys i'm new to the forum, i was curious can you use a mega 2 quick charger for the stock Heng Long battery?

Hi no you can't that is a set 5 to 4 amp rate charge the hl batteries i would not charge more than 2 amps as they are not a good quality battery and they may blow... get yourself a MRC 969 super brain set your amps to 1.5 or 2 and press a button and it atomattically sets all the rest of the settings for you.

How many mah and cells are the HENG LONG stock batteries?

The HL batteries that come with the S&S HL tanks are 2000mah 7.2 volt nicad battery packs

Only if you buy the Tanks from MatoToys online otherwise they are 1700 Mah. It will say on the pack
Mato gives you the 2000 Mah and metal gears in all his tanks that is his way of getting you too buy from him. You get more for the money.

I believe the batteries are NiMH. At least mine are.

on the 2 battery packs I got it says QL Ni-cd 2000mAH 7.2V so I'm assumeing they are Nicads

I think Mato mostly used NiMH and went to NiCad for a while. At least I read that here somewhere.
