Bit of a dilemma

OK ! So its not all bad. I just sold a heng long Tiger 1 for $810:00AU. To say Im happy is an understatement. My problem now is do I go Tamiya or buy a house full of heng longs, failure to decide quickly will result in a default win for my wife, who is already thinking of what to do with it? HELP !!!

Lol seen that, and its non-S&S too. Before you get your hopes up, I'd make 200% sure its just not some tard bumping up the bids and withdrawing later.

You are right to question it , but the bloke is legit. :DI couldnt believe it myself. Have another one ( panzer 3 ) TO put on . My missus is on my case now to put that one on LOL...;)

Crazy, but i would still be wary because the last two bidder which pushed it above and beyond $310 are new to ebay... I wouldnt expect this to happen every week :)

To anyone reading this , I'm not trying to get rich or make a living, just self fund my hobby. LOL and Ive almost done it in one go. Recommend it to anyone short of cash with a little skill. Dont be afraid. That was only my third Tank sold. The hardest part is packing them and saying goodbye [&o]

I know where you're coming from! Have sold a few myself and hated to do it afterwards, sellers remorse!

I don't know what translates to in US$ but you could buy another HL to build and sell, another for yourself and fund a Tamiya.

WOW. When ebay first started I was into buying, rebuilding old COX 1/24 scale slotcars. OF course nobody had seen these things for 40 years. THen when everyone and their dog found ebay there was a huge spike in demand for these. It was the most lucrative hobby I ever had. THen when people started realizing what these things were selling for, everyone started searching their garages and basements. Soon there was ample supply and the prices started to fall.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to spend the money until you have it in your hand. With ebay you never know.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have 10 tanks now with my second tiger on route. I love to rebuild them and detail them, but there is a limit to how many I can store. If I could even get half that amount for my rebuilds I would be happy.

I have been paid already .... via paypal. As for what mods I did , just the standard ones, like fix the barrel and hatches , add a link to the tracks , flyscreen on the engine deck. Oh I did put tracks on the turret, wood handle tools. apart from that just a flash paint job with weathering. I have seen as good and better here.

That is a good looking tank. Selling built tanks can be very profitable on ebay; to your continued success.

Make sure you ship it with tracking and insurance. Otherwise he can just say he didnt get it and Paypal will refund him the money out of your account. It happened to me before.

Yes, and on a transaction that large, dump your paypal money in another account so he can't reverse the charges. I've heard that happen before, don't know how but I would hate to know it happened again to someone.

BTW, kudos to you! There are a lot of custom pieces being sold on ebay, glad one came through for you.

You know the funny part is he will be on-line somewhere telling people what a great buy he got on e-bay.You could really make him feel great by suggesting he go on the tank forum and see what one of those tanks actually cost. [&o][&o][&o]

RE: Bit of a dilemma

The guy did get a great deal. He got the tank he wanted, painted exactly as he wanted it. It doesn't matter that it cost under $200 in materials to acquire and build. What matters to the buyer is how it makes him feel. Remember, all buying is based on emotion and justified with logic.

When I was new to the hobby I saw an awesome professionally painted Tiger online at auction. I bid and lost and regretted not bidding higher for that tank. Back then they weren't smoke and sound, had plastic tracks and upside down mantlets too.
