Help about HL pershing wheels
Can someone confirm me how to remove the running wheels on the HL pershing? I don't mean the sprocket nor the return rollers, I mean the main wheels.
Thank you |
RE: Help about HL pershing wheels
I found it myself, and I want to kill the glue monkey at HL....

RE: Help about HL pershing wheels
They're not made to be removed. You can either saw the wheel in half and glue it back together (not as strong) or cut off the hub to get a screwdriver inside to loosen the screw and glue the hub back on. The trick is making a nice cut so you don't mangle the hub.
Or you can do what I did. Forced them apart breaking every single one and had to order all new ones from Mato. All that just to paint the hull bare. Well not completely bare as you cannot remove the suspension without compromising its strength either! The posts for the return rollers as you can see are melted to the hull and they conceal the tops of the shocks. BUT!! I did see some resourceful individual over at panzerkettan forum put a brass sleeve through it and the hull (on a PZIII) to restore is integrity. |
RE: Help about HL pershing wheels
The easy way is to drill a very small hole in the very center of the hub so you can just get a small phillip's screw driver in it to un-screw it.If the hole is going to bug you or ruin a particular look you want, then just use a little filler putty and repaint the hub. This method you don't dammage anything or have to replace anything.Just my opinion---BIGMIG ;););)

RE: Help about HL pershing wheels
That's a good idea, and maybe it is also better possible to cut the hub cap, and made it removable.
I broke the first damper bracket today, and had to dismount the idler assembly to access and repair it. Now that I know how it's fitted, should I remove them again I will rather drill or cut through the hub. |
RE: Help about HL pershing wheels
i havent took a pershing apart, but i have took a bulldog one apart, or should i say it came apart. when you order them from mato toys they come un-glued.
