1/16 E-100

What happened to this. I know BYA was going to sell it but they are only a distributor. Who was originally making the patterns for this kit. Is it still going to be done?

I would love one of these! One of my favorite tanks!

Could someone please explain the fascination on super rare tanks or those that never were? Sturmtigers only numbered a dozen and the E=100 was never totally assembled and running outside of one prototype. Panther II had the same fate, with the war ending before the turret could be matched to the chassis and was never used.....but there seems to be a fascination drawing people to these tanks. The E-100 is a cool looking tank with nice lines, but like the Jagdtiger and Maus, nearly useless outside of a serving as semi mobile pillbox which could only move to the nearest bridge and stop. [&:][&:][&:] At 85 tons and underpowered E-100 would have been merely an artillery or P-51 target. [&o]

The fascination? That would be that they are R/C tanks (not real) [X(] and when something is not available people tend to want it more. Paper panzers, prototypes, one off modifications ... bring 'em on! :D

was the e-100 kit supposed to be a partial retro fit for the hl or tam King tiger?

Nope.

The E-100 is MUCH larger than a king tiger. The PROTOTYPE had a modified King Tiger motor installed but production ones were to have a more powerful motor installed. For me its the fact it was ALMOST completed that makes me want to build one. To see what one would have looked like moving on the field among other tanks of the time.

There is a 1/6 Maus out there. It looks aewsome.

Needless to say a 1/16 E-100 would be very cool.
