Closet Case

Just wondered where most with more than 1 or 2 tanks park them. Here's my solution, in one of my built in clothes closets. The weathering on the garment rod took years to achieve, but I think it's a good simulation of what might have happened to this particular piece of home furnishing had it been exposed to the Spring rains on the Eastern front.

Clearly phrased that question wrongly. Should have said if you have more than 1 or 2 tanks, where do you park the rest of your life?:)

30? not bad, but a few guys here could beat that, and I'd bet their's would be fully operation - Bill, care to answer that challenge? :D

Avoid keeping your precious tanks in high places! I learnt that lesson the hard way when my Tiger (which I used to keep on top of a book case) was knocked off and took a nose-dive! It busted up the tracks and the drive sprockets! Good excuse to upgade to metal though :)

Hey, he asked the question. :D There's no way I'll ever be as bad as Bob and his Panzer Museum in 1/15 & 1/16 Scale. Although at times when browsing through his website it does become a little overwelming. This is just my 9' X 11' hobby room where I escape from the real life for a little me time.

I keep two of my 1/16s inside the house and the other one in the garage. :)

Panther F, I recommend you to a good therapist in Fort Knox, Kentucky or Aberdeen Maryland! :D

I think Bill is putting an addition on to house, he wants to have a battalion or 2! [:-]

My tanks are scattered everywhere throughout the house (200+), but recently in an attempt to get them in one place, well the big ones, I managed to track down a glass display cabinet for a good price. It's currently sitting in my spare room until I find a place to actually put it, its heavy as!

here's a display solution. Missing from photos are Pz IV F2, Pz III N flame tank, M-4A1E8 Sherman, Jap Type 97 and M-46 patton. It pays to have a seperate hobby/workshop. Now, packing up and transport presents other problems.[&:]

How did you miniaturize that extension reel and that can of paint? :D

Awesome tank!

hatakashi 07-23-2008 08:24 AM

RE: Closet Case

Those two are in fact miniature decorations hehehe the whole garage and its contents are belonging to a 1/35 scale diorama :D

No criticism intended. My tanks are stashed in the closet, because fruits of my earlier obsessions have already pretty well filled that room and this snap shows only a corner :D

Here is how I solved my hobby problem. 30 tanks and a myriad of other 1/16th support vehicles. And, yes I do have an understanding wife......... which got me my own very nice hobby room in the basement away from everyone. [8D]
