Matorro Tigers at Mato
Has anyone noticed these tanks yet.
[link=http://www.matotoys.com/canada/product_info.php?cPath=1_31&products_id=253]Matorro Tiger[/link] They appear to have the proper mantlet, and the correct sized bbl. I also notice the pistol port is correct, and they mention trule scale speed and the sound of a real tiger being used. Does anyone have one of these to confirm that they are actually different inside then the Heng Long Tiger ???? |
RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
Realistic Look- Tiger I was made with care and precision. Matorro wanted the Tiger I to look as real as possible. A lot of time and thought was put into the creation of this product. |
RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
Yes I noticed that as well, but a least the bbl is the correct length. What about the sound and mechanics inside. Is this a different tank or just a repackaged Heng Long with the same gears and electronics(which wouldn't be a bad thing just not as different as I might be hoping)?

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
Could just be a display model. I seriously doubt they correct every Tiger they get from HL.

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
If you look at the transmitter it has Matorro markings on it as well. I don't think this is a case of rebuilding Heng Long tanks, I think this is a new release under the Matorro brand name. I just want to find out how different it is. I guess I'll buy one and see how different it is. I was just wondering if someone already has done that.

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
I have both the tiger I and the new camo. king tiger from Matorro the electonics are much improved over the first king tiger and sturmtiger which i have too.

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
They are newly designed tanks, not rebuilds. Murphy is on a quest to introduce better built, highly detailed tanks. Of course he wants to introduce more models to market faster then the other guys too.

ORIGINAL: tiger rampage I have both the tiger I and the new camo. king tiger from Matorro the electonics are much improved over the first king tiger and sturmtiger which i have too. Does this mean they are as good as Heng long electronics???? IF you have one could you rip off the top and show us some pictures inside. I am interested in the gearbox as well. |
RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
Well i am no expert but the sound is much better than my s+s heng long tiger I the machine gun and cannon are much clearer and the engine sound seems to be proportional ie give it gas engine sound gets noticibly louder.:D

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
I am a novice with a computer but i do have a digital camera i will try to download and post some pictures. But i will tell you this the new camo king tiger is much improved over the original king tiger

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
Matorro's King Tiger has great mg and main gun sounds, but the rest of the sound effects are muddled and confused, and it returns to super-quiet idle when stationary (which can be good if you're having a conversation near one). I too would love to see the differences, if any, between the earlier (pink/purple toned) and the later (ambush/spotted) ones...

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
That looks like a re-worked HL Tiger. Even the molded tools are the same. And like how the escape hatch is higher than where it should be....the same as HL's.
I always thought Matorro is part of Heng Long, or at least they have close ties to each other. Heck, even their logos looks like it's been designed by the same guy. |
RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
I don't think they are, why don't you buy one and do a review for us? :D

RE: Matorro Tigers at Mato
Definitely in the future. :) But I'm still not done repainting my Tamiya Tiger I, Pershing, WSN T-34/85, and I'm gonna build the Leopard 2A6 in a few days. :(

Oh I have no doubt that this Matorro offering is from the same factory that the Heng Longs are built. But I do believe that the Matorro offering does have some differences. The whole point of this thread was to find out if anybody knows for sure how similiar they are. With no real answers yet, I guess I will have to buy one to find out. |
