Insurance

As we all know there can be a large amount of money tied up in our toys. Anyone know of a (U.S.) insurance company that will cover rc vehicles? I called AMA and they would cover tanks but with some restrictions. I need something that would cover transportation, storage, and if possable some liability coverage too. My home policy will cover them just sittin in the garage. Until they find out the value.

RE: Insurance

That's a problem. Insurance companies will put stuff on your HO policy but hard to insure high risk/breakable stuff once it leaves the home. I have the same problem with ,my instruments. I'm a professional musician and carry my oboe, oboe d'amore and english horn in one case ($12.000) and my clarinets (Bb,Eb,C and tarogato) in another case and a bass carinet, then a pair of Baroque oboes.. Can't find affordable insurance to cover me while going to, playing or returning from a gig. When I pack and transport my 34 1;16 scale tanks, I'm on my own. If you find something without mortgaging your home to get it, please advise[&:]

RE: Insurance

Most insurance companies will add riders at additional cost to your policy for collectibles, or other valuables. In the end, the question may be is it worth the extra expense.
