Receiver board question...

I have a non-S&S receiver board and a S&S board with a burned out transistor. My question is will a transistor from the non-S&S work in the S&S board the same as the burnt transistor (before the BBQ)?

the answer is yes Dmon have actually done it on a 13 before;):D:D

OOppss thought you meant main board [sm=red_smile.gif][sm=red_smile.gif]

RE: Receiver board question...

There should be a part number on both reciever boards, if they are the same you could swap them out. If not I doubt it, as the components may be completely different.

RE: Receiver board question...

Yeah, sorry....the toasted board is an Rx13, and I can't see any marking on the non-S&S board. I just figured I could "borrow" a transistor to fix my Rx13 board....

RE: Receiver board question...

Dmon is it the main board or the reciever board

If the main board should be OK ;):D:D:D

Kind regards rob

Main board. The one that Rx13's toast transistors on so easily- the bigger one! The one we keepmarshmallows around for (just in case). :D

Hi,

Does anyone know what is the alternate part for MP4104? My main board burnt after 2 days. I have manage to get replacement parts for H1357. Both burn after my son drive the 1:16 German Panther against the wall.

Thank in advance for you response.

1 Attachment(s)
those main boards burn out fast. I owned 3 panthers and they all burnt out fast. You can buy an entire new board for fairly inexpensive. I cant remember were I got mine. its been awhile. also. More better approach is also what i did. buy a new robot board. they make them for tanks and they are small. I put them in all 3 of my panthers. they work great now...(also have done some other mods. and am in the process of doing more mods...) anyway.... I know i wasnt much help but just keep googling. You gotta love the internet... so much info out there. Not like in the days when i grew up....
check out one of my panthers....

RE: Receiver board question...

Managed to get my main board fix. Found some datasheet from a friend. For the benefit of those why would like to fix the board yourself, I replaced the MP4104 with STA401A, STA403A should be better option if you can get hold of it. Another burned component is H1357, the darlington pair power transistor. I replaced all 4 of them with BD178. I also added a heatsink now hopefully to reduce much of the heat. My son is enjoying playing now.
Thanks to the gentleman who posted the cct diagrams in the FAQ tracks.
