Does anybody know if the Rustoleum metal primer is compatible with the Tamiya spray paints? and also can I use the same metal primer for the plastic parts?

Wow, My first tank - a Panzer III has arrived. Looks good, feels hefty in the hands.

Upon opening up, I noticed that quality not as high as I expected:
+ Left idler wheel is misaligned
+ L front suspension bracket was not fully inserted into holes on the hull
+ Remote controll looks very cheap, battery compartment is tooo tight - I use varta low-discharge NiMh 2100 mAh and they barely fit even though they're not very fat, 2 cells were damaged when I tried to push them in place. The battery cover could not close entirely.

Antenna of my Panzer III is at the back (I saw some photos of othe panzer III and they seem to have the antenna at the side?)

Some questions:
- When I turn on the tank with no load and the RC at the lowest speed, the two motors run at the reverse direction. So how do I break in the gearbox? As the FAQ says run forward 1 hour, backward 1 hour, then forward 1 hour again. How do I get it run forward?
- The teeth of the gear on motor axle (both sides) do not perfectly align with the first gear, does that matter? if it does how do I adjust them?

Are you familiar with Chinese quality if not welcome to quality control Heng Long style there all the same, The gear box needs to be squared up were the motor bolts on to solve gear meshing probs, You can remove and realign problem parts the glue used is average at best, Never bothered with braking in gear boxes or motors myself.

PS Tigers have heaps of room!

Hi guys,

i'm looking to go into tanks myself to. But I have one big question that keeps me from doing so.
I keepwondering how long the track's will last. Form what I find on the net the trackl can be quite expensive and I don't want to buy a set of track's every year, beacause they have worn out.

So how long do the tamiya stock trac's last and how long do the metal upgrades last?
For your information, i'm looking into a tamiya tiger or king tiger.

greetings,

Pim
